Sad to leave but wanted to get the tanks emptied and on to Hungry Mother state park in Virgina. We stopped at the Tamarack center just before leaving West Virgina. Could have spent a good half day looking at all the arts and crafts. They also had artists working at times but we had Teddy in the car and DID NOT want a BBQ doggie. We hope to see the Appalachian craft center just a few miles down the road. Hopefully, this will be a good substitute for the Tamarack center we didn't get much time to spend looking at. Mar 26, 2012 - Hungry Mother State Park

Our intended destination was Grayson Highlands State Park near Mount Rogers in the Jefferson National Forest, Virginia. After a comical GPS misdirect we arrived at the park office only to discover that the camping facilities had not yet opened for the year. After a quick GPS and map search we found the Hungry Mother State Park open and not crowded. The facilities were new and clean. Virginia is definitely an area to which we would like to dedicate a future visit.
