On our last full day in the Shenandoah Valley, we decided to take the Grand Caverns Cave Tour in the morning and then visit the New Market Battlefield Military Museum in the afternoon. Jul 5, 2011 - Wet Independence Day

Independence Day in southwestern Virginia was hot, humid, and wet. The only fire works we got to see was a thunder storm that passed through the area Monday evening. Fortunately a nearby town, Waynesboro, has a celebration on Saturday so we'll probably go there to catch the fireworks. The campground really cleared out by noon yesterday. We went from being squeezed on both sides to being the only RV on the row. Today was another hot and humid day as I'm sure it is where many of you are.
