Aug 9, 2018 - TT Lynchburg, Rustburg, VA

Our move this time 265 miles south to TT Lynchburg, at Rustburg, Virginia was a little further in time cuz we didn’t take the freeway. I’m sure the mileage is shorter but we took the “country route” and that takes time. Another fella at church back at Gettysburg made the suggestion of going south on US Highway 15, then connecting to US Highway 29, he said a much better drive than the freeway. So, after checking that route on the map book, it sure did look promising. So, at the appointed time on Wednesday morning our intrepid navigator...

At first, Dave thought he was going to have to hitch up in the rain again, but as it turned out it just sprinkled lightly and we were on our way. The 185 mile drive from TT Williamsburg to TT Lynchburg went smooth and safe. Even though along the way and about 10 miles from our destination the Tire Minder System for the truck tires alarm beeped, telling us that a tire was low of pressure. Since it was just getting low pressure and we had only 10 miles of slow country roads, we continued. Dave later took the truck to a tire store who pulled...

Jun 27, 2012 - TTN Lynchburg, VA

We departed TTN Chesapeake about 9 a.m. with Becky driving and finished the 211 miles about 5 hours later with Dave at the wheel. We have found this 161 acre park to be improved over the last time we were here, with grandson Jordan. Our goals while staying here are to visit Monticello, Red Hill, Lynchburg, Natural Bridge. Oh and also to catch some fish! This park has a beautiful 11 acre lake.

Drove across W Virginia today for the first time...liked the areas south of Beckley acrosss I 64 into Lexington, Va. Then a grueling drive over US 60 across the front range of the mountains on a winding, 2 lane mountain road into Lynchburg, Va. Down to Gladys, Va where the TT resort is located but the GPS took me the long way around by about 5 miles...yuk! Park is scenic but the sites are not very level and lots of trees to miss backing into sites...and makes getting satellite reception a challenge...no T Mobile here but Verizon internet is...

This resort is a hidden GEM. It's closed from mid Oct thru mid April. It's so far back in the country and quiet with a big well stocked lake it's gonna be a favorite of ours when we're in this part of the country. The facilities are premium, well managed and clean. Launching our little Porte-Boat was the ticket for catching a few big mouth bass. Though it's named Lynchburg, it's actually 20 miles away from that city, the nearest town is Rustburg, about 6 miles away with all the amentities you'd want. From here' we'll see Red Hill,...
