Oct 13, 2020 - Claytor Lake State Park (8/9/20)

We were in Site D26. We haven't stayed here before, but this is a beautiful park and we will stay here again! Driving into the park and campground, we saw several deer just on the side of the road. There were also fawns eating and chasing around. It was so cool! For dinner we drove into Dublin and got Bojangles chicken. The weather was nice so we ate out on the picnic table, something we haven't done in a while. Great time and look forward to coming back. Our next stop will be in West Virginia.

Sat., July 28th – It was a long 360+ mile drive to Claytor Lake State Park in Dublin, VA. We arrived in time to walk through the woods to the marina and lakeside in the pretty park like setting of Claytor Lake. We finished our evening with the girls losing at Joker again. Oh, well, it’s been a fun time with our close friends as we wrap up another wonderfully blessed summer together. Tomorrow we are homeward bound.

As we were reading the sign boards along the interstate we saw one...

Oct 25, 2013 - Day 25. Cherokee To Dublin

Onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and up into the Mountains. Absolutely beautiful scenery. We couldn’t make out why some of the trees up on the mountains had a silvery look to them, until suddenly the “low outside temperature” light popped up on the dashboard as we got higher, and there were all these little white things falling on the car. Full sunshine and snow!! That was the silvery sheen on the trees. Absolutely beautiful. We continued along the Blue Ridge Parkway until we had enough of twisty windy roads and headed into Asheville for some...
