We are finishing up our 3rd park in Virginia at the Campground at Kings Dominion Theme Park. The weather has been good but starting to get those chilly nights - heat on at night and the flannel sheets came out about 2 weeks ago. Fall colors have started but won't be peak before early Nov. The colors here are nice but we're spoiled by the New England foliage. Sep 23, 2012 - King's Dominion

This past weekend, we made a day trip up to King's Dominion in Virginia, my first time visiting the park. Sundays in September are a great time to visit - discounted admission tickets are available online, the weather is cooler, and the kids are back in school so the lines are much shorter. I don't think we ever waited more than 10 minutes for a ride. We arrived at the park around 11 and started out with the wooden coasters - Grizzly, Hurler, and Rebel Yell. Jul 7, 2012 - Day 4 Greenville SC to Doswell VA

Traveled today from Greenville SC to Doswell VA. My brother Charles decided to do ride the Amtrak home something he has wanted to do for a long time. Doswell put us about a hour out from the Amtrak for his Saturday departure. Another scorcher day with thunder storms in the evening.

George H. Cooper is my Great Grand Uncle, his Sister is my Great Grand Mother, Priscilla Ann "Catharine" Cooper married John David Southerland. He was wounded May 24, 1864 and died May 27, 1864 in General Hospital, Richmond, VA. Hanover Junction, VA is now called Doswell, VA. Just a US Post Office and a few stores. MILITARY: CIVIL WAR, CSA St. Johns Lodge, No. 13, was the original Masonic Lodge in Duplin County and was instituted June 25, 1791, about three and one-half years after the Grand Lodge of North Carolina was organized.
