Oct 23, 2007 - Visiting Berkeley Plantation
This morning I updated this journal...had gotten behind. After having lunch here in the coach, we took off for a 30 mile drive to Berkeley Plantation, on the James river. Stopped at Walgreen's on the way, to pick up prescriptions. I had visited there once before, about 1972, and at that time they had a grass runway that I landed my Navion airplane on. Berkeley is the site of multiple historic events. English settlers first landed there in 1619, before the Pilgrims in Massachusetts. They held a Thanksgiving service in thanks for their safe...
