Flying J Truck Stops, more than anybody, is RV friendly. They have Free Water, Dump Stations and if you have their travel card discount gas. You can also stay for free in the area that they have reserved for RV’s. I got there about dark and got the last place. Pulled in between a 5th Wheel and a Bus. Small world, Guy in Bus was from Gainesville, Fl. He and his Wife a full time RV folks and have been on the road for 8 years. Wow! just about seen everything. Also learned a lesson, Guy told me that gas had gone up .03 in the night. Should have...

May 3, 2007 - Fort A. P. Hill 2007 Trip

Champ's Camp, a favorite recreational vehicle park, located within the Fort A.P. Hill military base boundaries, is available for active and retired military personnel and other authorized DoD card holders. Luckily, my brother and long time camping and fishing buddy is an authorized civilian DoD card holder. Champ's Camp includes 49 very nice RV sites with water, sewage and electrical hook-ups. This facility's Service Center located across the street offers restrooms, showers, vending and laundry facilities. Tent camping is not authorized....
