Apr 22, 2007 - Back in Virginia! Shenandoah Crossing - 650 ft. elevation

We headed back into Virginia today and are in a little town called Gordonsville just outside of Charlottesville. It is a beautiful area. There are two of us at this campground, but the RV part is just a small section inside a huge resort developement. They have a lodge plus a couple hundred cabins and in the center of the whole thing is a very large horse stable and pasture. Folks can rent and ride for a mere $45.00 per half hour! YIKES! Jun 30, 2006 - Shenandoah Crossing at Gordonsville, VA

We finally made it to Gordonsville and the beautiful complex called Shenandoah Crossing. Unfortunately, once again, it is in another "black hole" so no cel or internet, but they did have cable for a few stations, so we stayed for the five day weekend. The best part was on Saturday night they had a fantastic fireworks show that we watched from about 100' away from our site. June 23, 2006 - The drive from Monticello to Fredricksburg took about 2 hours. It wasn't too bad because we had all new country to view. We passed through several battlefields, but decided we wouldn't stop since we were going to Gettysburg next. It was great to see Bill Bastian. He had a wonderful little place. I don't think he ever thought that when he left California that I would end up on his Virginia doorstep one day.
