The drive today was not the best drive. Traffic was heavy and the mountains make traveling with motorhomes, trucks and cars difficult. Most of the time our motorhome can climb the hills faster than the loaded trucks but not as fast as the car traffic. It is difficult at times to try and keep your motorhome going fast enough to keep from slowing down cars and not being slowed down by trucks. May 6, 2014 - Buena Vista, VA

0745 we pull out of Singing Hills RV park in Cave City KT and head east, we have a long trip today. Oveer 500 miles later we pull into Buena Vista VA. We are in a city park with RV hookups Glen Maury Park. Plenty of space and a nice park diffrent than where we normally stay.

Jul 3, 2013 - A Much Needed Break

We arrived in Buena Vista, VA last night, reaching the 800 mile mark yesterday. We are taking two 0's here to rest my legs. After hiking for a week through intense pain I finally decided to visit the Doc. He said 3-5 days off of them. We are hoping two is enough. We got to this town looking forward to the wine shop, movie theater, and coffee shop. Unfortunately, small towns close up shop on holidays like the 4th of July. It will be a pretty quiet day tomorrow, but that's good for resting. We are hoping to still get in to see a movie. It...

Aug 10, 2010 - RV Repair Ripoffs – A Coming Trend??

Fred here for a Rant We've had a couple of bad experiences lately with RV repairs and I'm starting to see a trend that bothers me. Not only are RV dealers and Camping World really jacking up their hourly rates, we've had $125 and $109 recently, but they are now starting to charge a “Book Rate” for their time, rather than the actual time it takes to do the repair or installation. My recent altercation concerned $174 labor charge to install a $129 TV antennae, that it actually took the technician 35 minutes to complete. Since they did it in...
