Mar 28, 2013 - Broadway, Va
Thursday, March 28th.. . As planned, we traveled 361 mile miles today. The only sightseeing was from the windows of our motorhome. We stopped for rest breaks, lunch, and to fill the fuel tank. . There was a ‘little’ snow here and there, luckily well off the side of the road. First snow we’ve seen since leaving New Hampshire in January. . Tomorrow we’re heading for Allentown, Pa.Jump to full entry
Oct 2, 2012 - Rain Mishaps
Rain! The rain caused us problems today… at least I am going to blame it on the rain. We woke to the sound of rain pelting Tiny’s rooftop. Of course that meant packing up, bringing in the slides and hooking up to Grumbles as the rain continued to fall on us. First problem… the “check trailer” light kept coming on. I would pull over, Willis would jump out of Grumbles, in the rain, and wiggle the plug connecting Tiny to Grumbles and the warning light would go out and all would be well. Then I would go over a bump or make a tight turn (trying...Jump to full entry
Oct 21, 2010 - Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah!
We went to the Shenandoah National Park and traveled down the Skyline Drive. Beautiful countryside views in a wonderful park. We stop several times to take pictures. They had many overlook areas where you could stop to enjoy the view and take pictures. It was a beautiful sunny day and most enjoyable trip. We saw a deer and a tarantula too!Jump to full entry
Oct 20, 2010 - Our first leisurely day!
It was a little overcast today so we decided to take it easy. We got up a little later than usual and relaxed in the RV for awhile then we went out later. We went in to Harrisonburg, VA to Walmart to get a few items and then historic downtown. The camp site has no cable so we rented a video at a Redbox to enjoy this evening.Jump to full entry
Oct 19, 2010 - Underground and Potato Chips!
Today we drove up to Luray, VA to see the Luray Caverns. Those caverns are exquisite. We've been to Carlsbad Caverns, Howe's Caverns and now Luray Caverns, they each have a special thing about them, and we both agree that the Luray Caverns are the most beautiful of the three. After the caverns, we went to the Route 11 Potato Chip Factory, which was really cool. After watching how chips are made we purchased several bags of the different types of chips, Sweet Potato, Yukon Gold and Original ( Lightly Salted ).Jump to full entry

Ok, we left Pennsylvania and now we are in Virginia, Broadway Virginia to be more accurate! Nice campground, plenty of room, they put us in way in the back. Boy, is it quiet back there, no noise, plenty of sleep. The weather is nice and the views of the country here is beautiful.Jump to full entry
Sep 24, 2009 - A week in Broadway, VA
Our drive from Carlisle on Sunday was just the way we like it, uneventful. Because we chose to travel on Sunday the traffic was fairly light. We passed through a few miles of Maryland and a few miles of West Virginia on our way south on Route 81. When we arrived at the Harrisonburg/Shenandoah KOA in Broadway, VA the host told us that the TV service wasn’t very reliable, we’d be lucky to get one channel and the wi-fi was even less reliable than that. Hmmm, it sounded like it was going to be a real long week. Luckily when we got to our site...Jump to full entry
