We left Tallahassee and headed north towards the Appalachian Mountains via some small country towns. On the way we stopped for a walk down into the 1000ft deep Tallulah Gorge, which is partly famous as having been crossed by a tightrope walker back in 1970. One of the towers from which his tightrope was suspended is still there. Just to add an element of risk and excitement(!), he apparently did two handstands half way across the gorge.
