Aug 22, 2011 - Vermont syrup anyone?

8/22/11 Hubbardton, VT, Half Moon Pond State Park We are in yet another VT state park as they are #1, clean & well maintained, and #2, affordable. We have a very wooded site with a little creek and a mountain in back of us…very quiet and peaceful despite the fact that the campground of 69 sites is full. It sits all around a small pond, but very lively with kayakers, canoes, and fishermen. Yesterday we took a ride north, and into NY, to Ft. Ticonderoga – about an hour and ½ from the campsite. If you took State of NY history in 7th grade –...

Aug 16, 2011 - How sweet it is!

We moved into Vermont on Friday and absolutely love it here! The mountains, the little towns, the people – all great. And, if you’re a fan of dry camping like we are, this state campground would be for you. I gave it a 10++ and those of you who’ve camped with me know how few 10’s I give out. Sep 3, 2008 - Vermont

Yesterday Sandy and I were VERY SEEDY and quiet in the car. We (I mean Larry) drove up the coast to Maine and we found an Inn on Davis Island. We had a very quiet night in watching tv. This morning went for a walk on the pier (pity about the traffic noise on the bridge) and drove to Vermont. It took us about 6 hours and went over the mountains through some beautiful countryside.... reminds us very much of Warburton. Stopped at Killington and will head off to the Hamptons tomorrow before heading off on Friday to UK. Next entry will be in...

Dec 6, 2006 - Killington, VT

Come winter, my outdoorsy friends would rant about how they excited they were to hit the ski trails. I distinctly remember Jason and Cindy planning ski days (leaving Boston at some ungodly hour). And Kamille narrated her snow boarding adventures. This coupled with the very idea of gliding along the slopes of the snow clad mountains got us really excited to try this sport. So, without much delay we registered for a basic ski lesson at Killington ski resort in Vermont. Kamille even gifted Yak and me ski socks and hand warmers. We bought the...
