Jul 12, 2020 - Orange, VT
Made it to Lee & Marj’s for our summer visit. Our trip up I87 then across thru Fort Ann was nice. Heading up over Mendon Mountain the weather changed, and we drove through the clouds as we passed Pico and headed down over to route 100. But it was just a bit misty, no heavy rain thankfully! Will give the motorhome a good cleaning during our 2 week “quarantine”, help out with yard work etc., plus do some research to get a new door step motor. (and hopefully find and get one.) Bentley has been loving the freedom of running all around the yard....

Jun 18, 2020 - Landed!
We are SOOOO happy to be out of the AZ heat!!!!! It was great to see the saguaros, other cactus and many plants, shrubs and trees bloom but, if we can help it, we’ll never stay that late in southern AZ again. But then again – I should never say “never”! We have landed on our seasonal site in the VT campground not far from Ginger’s dad. On our last leg of the trip we stopped in UPSTATE NY to see our great friends, Sheila and Mike. We met them while competitive shooting around 1990 and haven’t seen them in many years. We enjoyed some...

Jan 7, 2020 - Plattsburgh to Burlington, VT
Jan 7 We're off! Cheryl gave us a ride to Burlington as our flight to Orlando tomorrow is at 5:30 am. We had a nice lunch with her at Chili's. She dropped us off at Comfort Inn and Suites, and after checking in, we walked over to the mall to get some walking in. Since we had a big lunch, our delicious dinner was microwave popcorn and a beer for Jim. On to the warm weather tomorrow!

Sep 18, 2019 - Vermont and New York's Mohawk River
2019-09-18 . Vermont, Arrowhead RV and Marina We stayed for several days at Iroquois Land RV park near Rutland, Vermont. It was a nice enough place to stay for a few days and it was convenient to the hiking. We wanted to hike to Glen Pond but the ranger convinced me that we should go beyond Glen Pond to Thunder Brook Falls so, off we went. Well, it was a fairly easy hike getting to the pond but the hike up and down to the falls was rather difficult, especially the going down part. The round trip was about 6 miles but the terrain was rocky...

Aug 28, 2019 - Brattleboro - Dummerston
We moved to the Brattleboro KOA in Dummerston, Vermont on August 28th for a week. This was a nice little KOA conveniently located in southern Vermont. We had several rides planned on the motorcycle and the weather was vey cooperative. We rode to the town of Woodstock and walked around for a couple hours. We ate lunch at a local café and then walked over to a covered bridge in town. Cute bridge. Another day we rode the bike on a covered bridge scouting trip and managed to see quite a few. We also ate lunch at a small diner - it was yummy. We...

Aug 3, 2019 - The Islands of Lake Champlain
Took a scenic drive tour of the Islands of Lake Champlain today including South Hero, Grand Isle, North Hero, Alburg, and Isle La Motte. I didn’t stop anywhere on the trip north until I got to St Anne’s Shrine which is a religious complex on the northwestern side of Isle La Motte. It was originally established 1666 w/ a fort and a chapel. It currently has an open-air chapel, a statue of our Lady or Lourdes, grottos in little huts, and other religious settings. I traveled down the western side of the island and around the tip to the Goodsell...

Aug 2, 2019 - Riding the Island Line
Today I rode the Island Line Bike Trail which is a 13.5 mile trail along the shoreline of Lake Champlain. Started at the waterfront area, the same place I was yesterday for the boat ride, at around 10:30. This trail starts about 2 miles south of this area but I wanted to ride the northern, much longer section first. For the first 5 miles, until the Winooski River Bridge, the trail is paved and in good condition. After the bridge it runs through Delta Park, which is a swampy area on an elevated concrete path, then through a residential...

Aug 1, 2019 - Spirit of Ethan Allen
Knew trip to Burlington was about 3 hours and wanted to take a trolley tour at noon so I was on the road by 8. Arrived about 11:30 but when I talked to the tourist information guy he didn’t know what I was talking about regarding the trolley. So instead I jump on a lake cruise. While waiting for the boat to depart i looked up the trolley and now, for 2019 it said “Closed & Retire. Thanks for the memories.” Cruise was an hour and a half. Afterwards spent some time walking Church Street Marketplace which is 4 blocks of street that has been...

Jul 26, 2019 - Orange VT, at Lee & Marj’s
On he 26th we travelled to Orange VT where we will be guests once again at Lee & Marj’s house. We stayed with them last year at the beginning of July for a few days. In the evening we travelled out to Danville to surprise our grandson, Isaiah. (He will be 5 next week) Megan & Ben put on a wonderful meal for us and we got a chance to visit with them and play with Isaiah. Wow, he has a lot of energy. On the morning of the 27th, we made our way into Montpelier and surprised Dad & Mom. It was dad’s birthday! (29 and holding) They knew we were...

Jul 24, 2019 - North Clarendon VT, Iroquois Family Land Campground
On the morning of the 24th made our way to N Clarendon VT. Iroquois Family Land Campground is very rural and quiet, but best of all it was close to Carol & Lenny’s house in Clarendon Springs. Due to our mechanical troubles, our 3 day visit with them got cut to two. We got to meet their new puppy, Quinn. She is so sweet and cute. Her and Bentley got along together very well. We shared a few wonderful meals, and had a great visit. 2-Ole-Buddies +Bentley

Jul 12, 2019 - Lone Pines
We left Lake Champagne on July 12th and headed to Lone Pines Campground in Colchester Vermont near Lake Champlain. Didn’t know when we booked these campgrounds that the lake names would be so similar, but that’s how it turned out. Lone Pines is a “family” campground, meaning that it caters to families with kids – there is a pool, several playgrounds, a putt-putt golf course, and game room. We were there in the heart of the summer season and the campground was packed. We had a nice long pull-through site with lots of grass all around. We...
