Oct 12, 2011 - Alpine loop Road II, American Fork, UT

Last Sunday October 9th, we journeyed back up into the mountains - again on the Alpine Loop. The weather during the week had brought some winter weather (we had flakes down here on the valley floor.) The peaks were all whitened and big Cottonwood Canyon boasted knee-deep accumulations. We found little snow anywhere up to the "Summit Pass" at 8,060 feet; but, we did find lots of excellent photographic sites. The color had deepened and spread during the preceding week; that and the white peaks and dark and light clouds made for interesting...

Oct 6, 2011 - Fall Color on the Alpine Loop Road

We wanted to get in a "foliage ride" before the "winter storm" hit later this week. The day was overcast and cloudy to begin, but the sun broke through and the blue skies became more and more predominant. We traveled up through American Fork Canyon - then, down for a brief stop at Sundance. I think we got some pretty fair shots - all-in-all.
