Jun 28, 2009 - Heading into Utah
Hi Everyone: Sorry for the long delay but a long drive from Grand Junction, CO into Utah, then limited to no Internet access in the Wasatch Range of the Rockies is the culprit and not the lack of enthusiasm we have in keeping contact with all of you. Before I go on, I need to inform all of you of a tragedy that has that has occurred involving our overall trip. We headed into to Utah to hook up with my cousins as we did last year. They were driving from St. George to Salt Lake City/Park City when the trailer they were towing unexpectedly...

Jun 25, 2009 - Provo, Utah
June 24 & 25 2009 Lakeside RV Park is in Provo. This RV park has full hook-ups and grass around each parking spot. Huge shade trees block the 93 degree heat but also block our satellite signal so we are roughing it by using the park cable tv. (grin) There is a very slow moving river on the north side of the park and the mosquitoes coming from it are the size of canaries. We can only stay outside of the RV for minutes at a time and even then we have to keep moving. We see other campers walking their dog and swinging at the air to discourage...

Jun 19, 2009 - Provo, UT
Provo, UT June 19, 2009 – June 30, 2009 11 nights Provo, the second largest city in Utah, is nestled in the Utah Valley along the Wasatch Front and on Utah Lake. We were, therefore, fortunate to have great views in all directions of the beautiful Y Mountains that surrounded us. Provo is home to Brigham and Young University and to the Osmond family. We were welcomed by mucho mosquitoes upon arriving at the RV Park. Provo River Trail and Park System This system covers about 55 miles of different connecting trails that start at Utah...

May 6, 2009 - Discovering Provo
After our six nights of dry camping at Moab, plus another at a Wal-Mart (see prev blog), we were ready for some electricity and we found it at Utah Lake State Park. After leaving Price, we crossed the mountains with little trouble outside of rain. But that all passed as we approached Provo. It was easy to find the park. It's on Utah Lake which is the second largest lake in Utah. But even more impressive were the snow capped mountains that tower over this valley. Provo sits at their base and we liked the area so much, we extended our stay...

Apr 3, 2009 - Zion NP and Provo, Utah
We left Kanab and headed to Zion National Park, The park is celebrating its hundred year anniversary. The weather has changed and rain with ice mixed in started to fall. When we got to the Zion NP entrance gate we had to pay an additional $15 fee for assistance driving the Camper through a narrow tunnel. Seems that we had to drive down the middle of the road due to the width and height of the camper, If we drifted to either side we might have shaved of the sides or top of the camper. The rain continued to fall and as the ground became...

Apr 3, 2009 - Millard county
Millard County is bordered on the east by the Pahvant Range, while west to the Nevada border lie the broad valleys and desert mountain ranges typical of the Great Basin. The Sevier River, which begins in mountains east of Cedar City, drains into the sometimes dry Sevier Lake in central Millard County. A huge granitic upthrust in the House Range, as well as volcanic cones and numerous fossil beds, provide clues to past geologic activity and prehistoric animal and plant life of the area. The county's prehistoric residents, part of the Sevier...
