Jul 16, 2011 - Photo Shoot

With most of the departure chores completed yesterday, we sat around drinking coffee and waiting for Danielle and her children to arrive. Cindi and the girls were going to Seven Peaks Water Park this morning. At the last minute, we decided to take a 4 generation picture, Mom, Cindi, her daughters Danielle and Kaitlin, with the grandchildren Caleb,Emma,Samantha, Rilee and Viktoria. Of course, the sun was overhead and way to bright plus I am not the greatest photographer. Anyway, there not bad for trying to get 9 people organized! Then...

Jul 15, 2011 - Repairs

With our stay coming to a end. We will be leaving tomorrow. I just sort of looked around and saw what we have accomplished while being here. Things that I have wanted to do for awhile. We finally found the new faucets for the bathroom and kitchen, we also found the faucet for the shower....all are installed and I have to say they are great! My next projects were the removal of the overhead TV and the Lazyboy chair. I did find out one thing. Life is so much easier when you have the correct tools. I had pain in muscles that I was unaware that...

Jul 13, 2011 - Tough 3 weeks

Today is Moms follow up appointment with Dr Weiss. It has been a long 3 weeks since her heart surgery. Trying to help her with eatting and taking her meds has been tough. She is looking forward to a clean bill of health . That was not to be. After having a EKG done, I quickley saw that she was not in Normal Sinus rythem and the tech told us the doctor would be right in. Dr Weiss came in and gave Mom some suggestions, but his recommendation was to have a Cardioversion. This would kick her heart back to normal. No time like the...

We arrived at Intermountain Medical Center at our appointed time. We arrived up in the room at 8:30 They gave Mom a cute little gown and did all the vitals. Now, this cute little gown would have swam on me. It was huge. Mom sat, laid and walked and finally they came for her ar 12:30 Now I sat, walked and watched TV for 5 hours. I was getting very nervous when they finally rolled her in at 5:30 She was in so much pain. After laying on a slab for 5 hours, her back and neck were in spasms. They could not give her any pain meds until the...

Jun 25, 2011 - Another work week

My list keeps growing, but I will finish it. I started with cleaning the Slide rails. Definitly a messy job. I forgot to buy the spray for the rubber lining. I will put that on another list. Next I cleaned the tow bar and the leveling jacks. I also decided to clean the wheels and check the air in the tires. I think I might be going overboard on the cleaning but with all this time on my hands I need to do something.

I also decided to do the spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter. A mechanic I am not but I was sucessful in my endevor ans I saved at least 100.00 Next, after a trip to Harbor Freight for the correct size socket, I was able to remove our lazy boy chair out of the living room. Getting it out the door is another story but we did it! We purchased some...

Jun 7, 2011 - Cedar City

Cigna called last week to see if I was interested in going to Cedar city to do a event. I jumped at the chance. I absolutely love Cedar. We drove down last night and arrived savely, no thanks to the wind. If I had been in the motorhome, we would have been on the side of the road under a bridge. The wind was blowing 50-60 mph. Just horrible I did the set up and wee went to dinner at Cafe Rios. Boy, was I dissappointed. I am sure due to the economy, they have made some changes, but I would have rather had a smaller burrito then them adding...

May 31, 2011 - Crystal Hot Springs

We decided to take a drive up to Honeyville and visit the hot tubs at Crystal Springs. We lounged around in the hot water for several hours and made us feel good all over. Watching my niece and her daughter, Viktoria playing in the water was so much fun. Mom took some pictures of my sister Cindi and I using huge squirt guns on each other. On our way home, I searched for a Dairy Queen, but settled for a Sonic. Until next time.........

May 25, 2011 - Tires are flat

This will be a run down of our excitement. 2-3 appointments to see doctors esch week. 2 birthday parties, so far. Blood tests, x-rays and Retinal angiograms in between. Mom has already had a heart conversion earlier in the month. It did not work. Today we are seeing Dr Weiss, he is the cardiologist that refers to himself as the electrician. One more EKG and now Mom has the decision of whether she wants to do the ablation again. Since she is still in Atrial Fib, she must stay on the Coumadin. Dr Weiss came in and explained the ablation and...

May 4, 2011 - Salt Lake is changing

So much has changed. On our way for Mom's Orthopedic doctors appt we drove through my old neighborhood. How depressing. I learned a valuable lesson...you can't go back. I had such a beautiful yard. I had Rose bushes running the whole north side of my house. Barrie helped me year after year with them and now they are all DEAD. I was in tears. We continued through the city and I took pictures of the remodeling of Valley Fair Mall and the new Trax connecting West Valley to Salt Lake City. Then we drove by Kristina and Barrie's High School,...

Apr 24, 2011 - Happy Easter

I woke up before the sun and decided that I deserved Easter Dinner with my family. It had been so long since we had celebrated any holiday together. Here I go, untraveled territory. I had never driven UT-89 in the motorhome and it had been probably 20 years since I had been in this area. I thought leaving early would give me the highway to myself, but I was wrong. Everyone was heading north. I have no clue as to why as it is still cold outside! Highway 89 and I soon parted and I found my way over to I-15 and cruised. No cars, just a couple...
