Oct 23, 2010 - Lake Whitney TT

Drove thru Ft Worth today and down to Lake Whitney for the first time at this park. Raining and dreary today. Got site A24 which is a nice pullthru w FHU but did have a little problem getting level. We are in Hill Country and Hill county as well. Lots of trees and nice hiking, biking here. Will check out the lake later in the week. Connie and Randle are parked next door and I did not realize they were going to be here. Nice surprise, but Connie just a knee replaced so is in bed. Quite a chore getting my TV transferred over to Dallas...

Aug 24, 2009 - Started Our Trip

We started our travels today. We left thousand trails and headed for Midland for first stop. We are excited about starting our travels but also a little scared about starting. We hate leaving Lake Whitney T/T the people there are the nicest bunch of people who could have run a park. Also this area has been our home for 12 years and will be hard to leave but we are.

After arriving we had a very hard time parking because of all the trees we moved a few times. But while here we really enjoyed the shaved ice stand. Kaleb rode his bike a lot and saw a rabbit so he took a carrot back for the rabbit. We were only here 2 days.

Dec 9, 2008 - Whitney, TX - Lake Whitney Resort

The weather in Whitney was a roller coaster with 70's one day and 30's the next. We had wonderful hiking trails through the cedars and a path that followed Lake Whitney. We participated in a couple of potlucks, with beans one day, baked potatoes the other and variety snacks for the Christmas gift exchange the other day. I met Phyllis and was the only crafter at her classes but enjoyed learning some new things. Mario and Sharon were new friends from Missouri. About 40 miles south of Whitney is Crawford, Texas, home of the filling station...

Jun 2, 2008 - On The Road Once Again

From Lake Whitney State Park – Whitney, TX Yesterday, June 1, we had a very pleasant “Sunday” drive from Lake Texana to Lake Whitney State Park just north of Waco. However, GyPSy Jill did try to take us down a CLOSED road once and we had to back the rig out and find the detour around this area being repaired. Arrived at the park at 1:15PM and got set up in our pull-thru site located in the Sunset Ridge section of the park. Our site is just across the road from the lake but can see it and can feel the nice lake breeze. We then went for some...

Apr 6, 2008 - Driving to Whitney Texas

Sunday, April 6, 2008. Lake Whitney Thousand Trails, Whitney, TX Driving to Whitney Texas We got up this morning when we woke up which was about 8:00. We did our grocery shopping, put things away once we got back to the RV and had Pop Tarts for breakfast. Then it was time to hit the road. It was about 11:00 by the time we were actually on the highway. We drove straight through with the exception of one detour. We ended up being sent down neighborhood streets and such. As long as there wasn't any oncoming traffic, we could dodge the trees...

In pursuit

Sep 7, 2007 - Lake Whitney TX.

Made it to Lake Whitney in time for the Sept Rally by luck, I had the wrong dates and had planned on arriving the week after the true rally date. That would have been a big surprise getting there and the only people there were the ones staying over for a few days after the rally. It was a great rally and we had a wonderful time with all the eating, game playing, and socializing with friends. I'm sorry that I didn't take any pictures during the rally because the camera was never with me. I need a camera case with a strap so I can hang it...
