Mar 29, 2010 - The weekend's over...

Thanks to a little electrical tape, the piercing whistle on the way to White Deer was significantly reduced. We made the trip in just about five hours, which included at least an hour and a half break for lunch, gas, dog-walking, etc. It was a pleasant drive - at least for the humans. Chewie the cat, however, can be heard meowing loudly and incessantly anytime the engine is off. We had a quiet Monday at Jeremy's grandma's, enjoying a good amount of time outside in the fresh air and warm sun. The Toyota body shop applied some sort of sealant...

Aug 1, 2009 - Day 1: Fort Worth to White Deer, Texas

We pulled out of the driveway (for the final time) at 10:17 a.m. today. A partial list of items forgotten so far: Jeremy's new tenure award fishing pole, his motorcycle gear (for renting a bike for a day), a vinyl table cloth (for picnicking). We had a good night's sleep and a pleasant day on the road. Gideon is still intent on his "long trip". Even when we stopped for lunch, he was the one that drew our attention back to the car and the task at hand - "Daddy, how 'bout go on long trip, see Zane?"
