Sep 8, 2013 - A day with Darvin, Betty, Joe, Mary, and the Kings

A great day chillaxing! After a bad night... Logan was up at 2am, then Xav. then Keziah, then back to sleep at 5:45 am.... Joel and Mary came over to have lunch with us, then we went to swim with Darvin and Betty's surrogate grand children (Lauren, Natalie and Sophia King). They live three doors up, and attend Houston North-West Corps with Darvin and Betty.

Our Grand Adventure.

Oct 1, 2011 - And we're off

Let the adventures begin! Today we left the safety and comfort of Sharon and Leon and struck out on our own. We've decided to stay close by until Fred feels more comfortable driving this monster! He did really well. I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck. Sitting in the passenger seat is a different perspective. White knuckles all the way to our first destination, Kemah, Texas. I'm either going to need to close my eyes (which is never suggested for a co-pilot), or learn to trust that he knows what he's doing. Our friends, Fred Oliver and...

Sep 30, 2011 - Our first night

Today we made a trip back to Houston to spend our first night in our new home. Sharon and Leon were so nice to invite us back to stay at their home so that they would be close if we had any questions or issues. Mar 26, 2011 - Free Camping!

We are all about not spending money to park our home. I found a park in Texas (yeah, I didn’t believe it either...this is the exception that proves the rule) that has all the hookups for free. Really you drive in, park, plug in...all free. I don’t want to put the name in our blog because I am greedy...mostly....but also, because the catch is that you have to make reservations and can only stay one week a month. We lucked out and got in our first try but another couple who was visiting kids nearby said it was not easy to do. It is a small...

Jan 9, 2009 - Tomball, Texas

Willie, Blayde and I have made it to Tomball, Texas. This is where we will be living for the next nine weeks (at least) as I work on this upcoming nursing contract. I am anxious to start “sightseeing” around the area but am too tired to do it today! We have settled into the Corral RV Park for this month (and if we like it will stay here for the remainder of the contract). I’ll post pictures soon… but first I need to take the night off after all of our driving! Needing to pick up our mail we stopped off in Livingston, TX, yesterday… it was...
