May 19, 2019 - Texarkana, TX

We got up early and continued to head east toward Texarkana, our next stop. We are only staying 1 night in most places since we need to be in Indiana in a week and we don't like to drive long days. It was cloudy but aside from that, the drive was great. Before we knew it, we were in Texarkana in an RV park where we've stayed several times. It's a quiet park, which we appreciated. I took Rocky for a walk near the pond and Jay set up the RV. The office was closed but they left us directions as to what site we were in and we got settled in...

Apr 28, 2019 - Buda to Texarkana

Very glad I chose to do this drive on Sunday. Hit traffic around Waco and even more traffic around Dallas. Imagine what that would have been like on Monday!!! I had such a lovely visit with Gwen. I feel so fortunate to have met her and her charming husband 7 years ago at Buckhorn RV Resort in Kerrville Texas. Dale is no longer with us but my memories of times we all spent together are truly wonderful ones.

Oct 29, 2017 - Highlites

Let's see if I can remember what has been going on the past few days. Thursday morning we went early for breakfast, not just donuts and coffee. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Not too bad even though they were powdered eggs. Not sure what they did to them, but they didn't taste like it. I wanted to go to an early seminar. It also was Chapter Day so we had put together stuff to let people know about Renegades. We had to walk from the parking over to the breakfast area and saw the motorhome with the cage attached to the...

Oct 25, 2017 - Another catch-up

Monday and Tuesday were spent relaxing and getting ready for the official start of 6-State. Monday we spent several hours at the fairgrounds visiting with some of the early arrivals. A few of our members were here and getting settled in. Looks like it will be a good 6-State, not as good as the first one we went to in 2013, but still good. Monday night a cool front came through. Tuesday morning we arose to a very cool and windy day. The wind was gusting around 20 mph (according to the weather app on my phone) and the high was high 60's. At...

Oct 22, 2017 - Weekend update

Left Ingram about 10am. (Beginning mileage 34724) Filled up at a Stripes and also hooked up the car, then we were on the way. Drove through Fredericksburg about 11:15 then onto Johnson City, Marble Falls etc. We stopped in Burnet to refresh. We were back on the road after about 15 min. Ronny & Linda store their motor home not too far from the Stripes and as we passed, I swear I thought I heard it sigh񟘱. We arrived in Waco about 4. Would have been here earlier, but we stopped several times. We had a dinner of soup and sandwiches in Larry...

Jul 19, 2017 - Texas again, again

Well, here we are back in Texas, a week early, but almost home. Yesterday was another travel day and we drove over 300 miles again, but there just aren't that many campgrounds along I-40 after you leave West Memphis, AR. We spent last night in Benton, AR. The campground isn't one of the best in the world, but they have certain sites reserved for one night stays and it's fairly easy/off I-30. I say fairly easy because since they have redone the interstate in that area, we had to drive 2 miles past the campground, make 4 right turns and drive...

May 1, 2017 - May 1, 2017 – Cartwright, Oklahoma to Texarkana, Texas

May 1, 2017 – Cartwright, Oklahoma to Texarkana, Texas I got away shortly after 8 this morning. I had found a place in Sherman which would do the inspection of Joliffe so that I can renew my license. When I got there, they did the car inspection as well. That means I can get both licenses renewed online. From Sherman, I headed east on US82 which is a good road. The area I was driving through had all its creeks and rivers out of their banks. Water was standing everywhere in the fields. I got here to Texarkana at 2 and got parked. I walked...

Mar 25, 2017 - Blowin' in the wind

The weather is not being too nice to us right now. We didn’t run into a lot of rain on the road, but it has been very windy which makes the driving very tiring. During the evening we had a huge downpour and we were real happy it held off until we parked for the night. The threats of hail and possible tornados were cancelled, thank goodness.

Oct 15, 2015 - Lots of pictures of the Mississippi!

We passed up going to Vicksburg because there wasn't a good spot to stay close to the river. Instead we headed for Greenville, MS and the Warfield RV Park! Wonderful choice! Acres of woods... lots of river.. total peace and quiet... barges churning past... perfect choice. ^_^ We stayed two nights and loved it all especially Lily and Ki! just like living in the country....right on the Mississippi. P loved all the river traffic and has hundreds of pics of barges with their unique loads... loved the rumble of the huge engines as they climbed...

Oct 12, 2015 - Here we are.... finally!

(I'll try to put a couple of the hundreds of pictures we have on here later... but at least here's an update! Finally a chance to put something on here! ^_^ We have Wifi for the night. We spent a wonderful month in Colorado Springs with the girls. Phil helped with many, many projects and was well rewarded with food and Thank You’s! ^_^ Then we headed west to follow the Red River Valley along the Texas/Oklahoma border. The river starts just south of Amarillo, TX but we stayed to the north and caught up with it just a mile north of...

Nov 8, 2014 - Texarkana, Beurk!
