May 26, 2016 - The Lone Star State

We started our journey from Shreveport Louisiana under cloudy skies and very humid conditions. Our string of good weather ended today as we traveled through light rain most of the way. The trip was about 267 miles, a relatively short day which was fortunate because we did hit some traffic around Dallas. This is Darlene's first visit to the Lone Star State. Nov 3, 2009 - Sunset TX

We drove from Springfield to Sunset TX to visit our Air Force friends, Ken and Maxine Vowell. We stayed at the Sunset RV Park, a gem in a small town, but dined at the Vowells and at Babe's Chicken Dinner House in Saner, TX where we had great chicken fried steak. Maybe someday we will get the Vowells out of Texas to visit us.

Mar 1, 2009 - Sunset TX

For those of you who read the original posting I've split it in order to document the map. Here we are in Sunset. The only thing here is the RV park and a cemetary. REALLY! There is no grass but laundry and wifi are free. There are 2 showers and laundry rooms. They are kept immaculate. They are larger than most of us have at home for bathrooms. Showers are very large. The area has a security code pad for access. We visited the Texas Motor Speedway. Never knew there were 5 different race tracks on 1500 acres. Yes! Everything is bigger in...
