Dec 20, 2018 - Spring, TX

Spring Texas is about 25 miles north of downtown Houston and have heard great things about an RV park there called Rayford Crossing. It is a very nice park with great facilities and I would rate it a "10", but it was recommended by someone as the nicest park they had ever seen. It is NOT the nicest park we have ever seen but I am glad we satisfied our curiosity. While we are here we are doing our grocery shopping for Christmas since there is a nearby Costco and HEB grocery store. Getting here was a "white knuckle ride" since we traveled...

Oct 23, 2012 - Lazy Dazers Rally at Spring

TUESDAY After lunch with Lullene, I headed to Spring for the Lazy Dazers rally. Most of the participants had already arrived. Some of them live in this area, so they didn’t have far to drive. One of the hostesses, Ellan Milligan, fell in their motorhome and broke her femur. Fortunately, the ambulance arrived within five minutes after the call! She had gone all out getting decorations, plates, etc., for our rally and everything was beautiful. Tonight we had a wonderful potluck dinner. We all felt sad that Ellan could not be with us....

Mar 17, 2011 - Happy St. Patrick's Day

Well, the park isn't quite as quiet now as when we first arrived as more and more young families with kids have come in, but it is still very nice. I haven't been able to use the nice showers because they have been filled with screaming tween girls. But this week will pass and the kiddies will return to school and life will return to normal for us RVers. -- Today, John and I went and explored Old Town Spring. There are over 150 shops, most of which are located in what look like little old houses that have been converted into shops of all...

Pretty Damn Nice!

Mar 15, 2011 - On the Road Again - Finally!

Today was our first official travel day of the new year as we left New Braunfels and moved eastward to the Houston area. We are staying in the small town of Spring, Texas, about 30 miles north of Houston, at one of the top rated RV parks in the country, Rayford Crossing RV Resort. We have never been to a park with a perfect 10 rating and it is very beautiful. The roads and sites are all paved. The pool, pond, clubhouse and grounds are very nice, but the showers are perfection. The nightly rate for a large pull thru, with cable and excellent...

Dec 18, 2010 - Spring, Texas (Rayford Crossing RV Park)

December 18-20/10 We drove through Louisanna to Houston were we stayed at the Rayford Crossing RV Park north of Houston in Spring, Texas. I finally got all my Christmas cards finished and we had a lot of running around to do before Christmas. While we were planning our next stop we decided that rather than heading down to Corpus-Christi or south Texas we would head back to Tombstone Arizona to the same campground we stayed at last year where we could visit with friends. Campground Notes: $42/night (P.A. $21?), 50-E/W/S, pool, hot tub,...

May 2, 2010 - Into Spring we go ...

Traveling with Carol, Lou & Beau ............... We had Susan's family over for dinner one night and we ate at their home one night. That was nice. Paul does a lot of the cooking; Susan works late. He does quite well - enjoyed being with them. Took many pictures of their beautiful home, because the front yard landscaping was really completed this visit. It did have some winter damage (had snow), but the yard folks did a good job getting it ready for the growing season. Everything looked quite nice. I have begun my walking routine...30...

May 1, 2010 - Leaving Kerrville - Spring Arrival

Traveling with Carol, Lou & Beau ............ It was sad preparing our trip north or east. I finally got some cute pictures of the Lamb's doggies, Rocky & Lil'Bit. I cannot say Beau was delighted with their presence, but he sure did love Donna's attention. She even asked if he wanted to go home with them - I don't think so. :-) After spending the month of April in Kerrville, at Buckhorn, the Lambs had to return to Marshalltown, Iowa, and we headed for Spring, TX to visit with Susan's family. The trip was uneventful and was 277 miles. On...

Apr 29, 2009 - Ar TX

We finally departed FL last Monday morning stopping in the FL panhandle overnight then to LA for another night. Nothing much happening except we found that we were riding without any trailer brakes. One of the brake controller wires came loose and after a conversation with the manufacturer I was able to get it right. (I was the one who installed the controller ): The ride along I 10 is pretty boring and bumpy especially while pulling a trailer, but non the less we arrived at our RV park in Spring, TX last Wed all in one piece. Took some...

Apr 8, 2009 - Spring, TX

We have stopped in Spring, TX (just north of Houston) for 1 night. We are staying at Rayford Crossing RV Resort - a very nice place. The drive from Austin to Houston on US 290 today was beautiful. The wildflowers are in full bloom. The road sides were ablaze with hues of blue, yellow, white, red, orange and pink. There were whole fields full of Blue Bonnets. Just gorgeous. Tomorrow we leave for Louisiana.

Feb 19, 2009 - High School Friend

Just a quick note before I go to bed so I can share some pictures. Will and I had a wonderfully delicious dinner and a very enjoyable visit with Cindy, Henry and their lovely children. It was fun to catch up with each other a bit and to see what talented and charming children Cindy and her hubby are raising. It really doesn’t seem like 30 years since we graduated from high school! Off to work again tomorrow and hopefully I won’t be needed on my next days off so we can do some local sightseeing! I’ll keep you posted. Happy Travels, Rebecca
