From Rob & Bessie Welder Park – Sinton, TX Well our travels for the next year began in earnest today as we left our Texas “home base” park and headed south down Hwy 59 and Hwy 77 some 188 miles to Sinton, TX. This is about half way to our winter destination of three months………Harlingen, TX. The trip was a nice uneventful drive and of course we had our Prasek’s fix just outside of El Campo! Mar 17, 2011 - Welder Wildlife Refuge

We found out about another birding place and decided to take a drive over there and see what we could see. The Welder Wildlife Refuge is on Highway 77 near Sinton, Texas. The refuge was a bequest in the will of Rob Welder who wanted to further educate the people of Texas and elsewhere in wildlife conservation, breeding, etc. Mr. Welder died in 1953. Dec 17, 2009 - A Little Trip to Sinton and Odem

Remember the old song "The Weather Outside is Frightful" Well, that's what it's been the last couple of weeks. We've been pinned in the RV most days sometimes going to the Malls to stretch our legs. We finally broke the cover on our old toilet. Instead of attempting to repair it... which is only tentative if not impossible to glue plastic together with any strength.
