Oct 16, 2008 - Cen-Tex LoW Campout at Seguin
THURSDAY This morning I left Austin around 10:30, heading for Seguin to meet up with my Cen-Tex LoW camping buddies at River Shade RV Park. I fed Daisy before leaving Austin ($2.669 per gallon). I stopped in Seguin to get a few groceries. We are trying something new this month. We all brought something to contribute to a silent auction as a fundraiser for our general fund. The winning bids will be announced Saturday. Tonight we had a potluck dinner, with plenty of good food as usual. After dinner we played table games. FRIDAY This morning...

Jun 10, 2008 - Texas trees growing dim
After driving through the plains of New Mexico and scrub brush of west Texas, it's nice to see lots of green trees again. We drove about an hour or so out of San Antonio and found a nice Comfort Inn. After a long swim, we are turning in for the night...tomorrow, we're planless and keeping our eyes open for the next adventure!

John’s high school friend, Harry and his wife Karen winter in Seguin. They have their two small planes and home in a lovely air park. An air park is a unique neighborhood where all the homes have airplanes and hangers adjacent to the grass air field. Harry says there are about 600 air parks through out the US. We spent two nights and had a great time. The town is named in honor of Juan Seguin who was dispatched by Sam Houston to advise the settlers to flee from Gen. Santa Anna. He was “the Paul Revere of Texas.”

No more grouchy people since then though. The campground that we stayed at last night in Van Horn had the highway on one side and the train tracks on the...

President John Cuthbertson resigned and announced that he and Helen Marsh will be married soon. We will miss them both. Another surprise was a birthday party for John by his daughters. Several of us drove over to Lockhart to the LCT-Baker Theater, where we enjoyed a performance of Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap”.

Oct 16, 2003 - Cen-Tex LoW Campout - River Shade RV Park
The weather during this campout was very nice. We had campfires a couple of times and roasted marshmallows. Also, several of us drove over to Lockhart to see a play at the LCT-Baker Theater. Richard Emerson provides music during intermission. We had dinner Saturday night at the Clear Springs Cafe near New Braunfels.
