May 24, 2012 - Seabrook Pelicans

Seabrook is a town about 2 miles north of Kemah, on the bay and Houston Ship Channel, bordered by Pasedena, and Clear Lake, home of the Johnson Space Center. All around this town, painted fiberglass pelicans, were commissioned by local businesses, since live pelicans could be seen all around the local waterfront. It started in 2005, some were destroyed by storms, but over the course of a few hot days, I was able to find all but about 5 of the original 38+. Oct 13, 2011 - San Antonio to Seabrook, Texas

It's only about a 4 hour trip from San Antonio to Seabrook and it's all Interstate, BUT Houston gets in the way. We found out there is no way to get around or through Houston without sitting in traffic. The Gulf Coast of Texas down around Galveston is nice, but you almost can't get there. We got off the I-state a couple of times for ABC points, but otherwise we just rode fast to Houston on I-10, then rode slow to Seabrook on I-45. See pictures for a few interesting signs.
