May 5, 2014 - Navy buddy

Arrived yesterday in Lubbock. Cute story. I had text Bob a couple of days ago and shared we would be coming in on Sun. So, when I texted him on Sun saying we would be there in a few hours, I received a phone call from him. I answered well hello Mr. Moore. He wanted to know who was this. He had not recognized the number and deleted the texts, but after the last one, he told Terry he was going to call and find out who this person was. Needless to say, our arrival was a surprise. We did have a wonderful couple of days with them. Danny and Bob...

May 3, 2014 - man cannot believe Danny's does something for nothing

Coffee Creek Cabin and RV resort. This place is family owned and has unexpectedly large sites. Their market is RV rallies and family reunions; they do not do long rentals like most parks do. Their soda shop has hand packed ice cream and Danny had a milkshake which he reported to be excellent. We went back down the road to a nut shop. Danny picked up broken pecan pieces for his pecan bars and I picked up apple rings. Danny washed off the bugs from the front of the rig and offered to do the same for an older couple. The man wanted to know...

Apr 25, 2010 - Santo, Texas

Yesterday was our last day in Fredericksburg and we did our best to make every minute count. We had been hoping to get a chance to spend some more time with our Duluth friends Steve & Lynette and well as George and Barbara but the latter had to leave Boerne in the morning…. We sure wish them safe travels and hope they have a trouble free trip. After they left, Steve and Lynette came to our KOA Park in Fredericksburg and picked us up where we planned on going to the greatest hamburger place in Texas. That got Steve’s interest since he is...

Nov 28, 2007 - Movin' On Back to Santo, TX

Wednesday, November 28, I woke up at 5:00 a.m., gave up on sleep and got up at 6:00. I read Thoreau for two hours--always a philosophical way to start the day. We packed up and left by 10:24. It was kind of difficult to back in and hitch up with the open culvert across from us. But we managed to make it out of here without incident. Adios to Gone Fishin' RV Park. There is a southwest wind at 15 to 20 mph bucking us the whole way and eating up our gas mileage. At Gainesville we took 51 south to Decatur and caught 380 west (through...
