Feb 24, 2015 - Sanderson, Texas - Unscheduled stop in the desert.
About an hour after leaving Seminole Canyon, and racing Northwest to beat the arctic front headed our way, Larry looked at the rear camera, uttered a bad word, and pulled over as sparks and smoke poured from our toad (towed vehicle.) Let's just say that our left front tire is having a huge adventure, as the last time I saw it, it was bouncing out about a quarter mile off in the desert, on its way to Mexico. Surely it bounced across the Rio Grande, yelling "WaHOOO-HOOO!!" and is now lying on a beach in Baja. Yes, the wheel, hub, and...Jump to full entry

Wow, it was cold this morning. We woke up to +5 C, and waited until it warmed up to +12 C before heading out. We rode the interstate for a few hours before heading down a secondary highway 90, which we both preferred over competing with semi’s and the faster pace that comes with interstate driving (although Highway 90 was indeed secondary, the speed limit was 75 mph). We couldn’t believe all of the Border Patrol trucks and quads that were patrolling this highway, and all along the Rio Grande. I guess they have some big problems in this...Jump to full entry
Jan 17, 2008 - Headed West..............
We departed Retama Village in Mission TX today about 9am. It was cool, misty and somewhat foggy. Lovely day to depart in, but we were promised by the weather man that it would improve. As we headed West up hwy 83 towards Laredo, TX it misted a little harder,,,,and harder,,,,until it turned in to almost rain. The traffic was fairly light and the visibility was fine, so no problem, except, our nice clean rig got REAL dirty! We got to Del Rio, TX about 4pm....We both said "THATS HAPPY HOUR"!
