San Felipe State Historic Site This was a fairly small site – a couple acres, consisting of primarily those items in the photos. The photos pretty much explain things. As I was the only visitor at this time, I had a personal explanation of the history of the area by the Historical curator at the museum. Dec 20, 2008 - Moving slowy west in Texas

Weds. 12-17 Awoke to rain, dark and dreary. Packed up and took off by 9. We are attempting to go around Houston to the north. Took off down some small roads on the map. The rain quit and traffic was light and everything was going hunky dory. We were traveling on 4 digit roads but they were good blacktop 2 lane and it looked like this was going to be a piece of cake avoiding the big city. However, twas not to be.
