Well, after another long day of driving we arrived in Salado, Texas about 9:45 and it is raining cats and dogs which is probably a good thing considering how dry it has been here this year. Tomorrow we will arrive at Bentsen Grove RV Park which will be home until April. Looking forward to getting there so we don't have to drive anymore. Take care everyone! Nov 30, 2011 - A Wild West Town of Yore

Today we opted to take a short trip to Salado about 20 miles on I-35. From what we read, Salado is rich in history, character and legend. The community grew up around a flowing spring fed creek that provided a welcome oasis for early Central Texas visitors. But long before Salado attracted permanent settlers, the area drew Native American Indians as well as Spanish and Mexican travelers who were drawn to its peaceful beauty. Jan 29, 2008 - Lunch in Salado

Today I had lunch with my new friend, Virginia Cunningham of Temple, at the Stagecoach Inn in Salado. We met back in November at the Benchmark RV Park in Marion, Mississippi. She and Jim are fellow Lazy Daze owners. She brought me a gift to thank me for being her friend. What a wonderful surprise! There were two soaps (lavender and lemon verbena), two packages of notes and a little book, "A Pocketful of Promises for Women" published by Honor Books.
