Apr 10, 2016 - Lovely weekend in the Houston area

Just spent a beautiful weekend with our great friends John and Dixie Kasmark at their home in Richmond, TX. We ate crawfish and BBQ, played corn hole and even had a sushi and theater night in Houston. But the best part was just relaxing in their lovely home, getting some pool and sun time with our friends, catching up and laughing until our sides hurt. Oh, and the raunchy (RR rated)card game was a blast too! Thanks so much to the Kasmarks for all the great meals, and making us so comfortable! Fun, fun times! Tomorrow we head for New Orleans...

May 6, 2012 - Richmond, TX

The month in Rockport, TX flew by and today it was time to leave. We traveled to Richmond, TX and are at Shiloh RV Park. Not a very fancy park but the price is right. It appears most of the people here are either construction or oil workers. We are about 12 miles from PPL Motorhomes, a motorhome consignment dealer. We are going to look, I said look, at their inventory and see if there is anything there that we like, and more importantly, that we can afford. They are on the southwest outskirts of Houston. When we are through we will probably...

Apr 9, 2011 - Family Visit

We always try to stop for a couple days when we are in the area of Richmond (very close to Houston) because I have two very special women and their families that live in this town. You don't get to choose your family like you do your friends but once in a while, you get lucky with family and that's the situation with my cousins, Teri and Kathy. Their dad (my uncle Dee) was an USAF pilot so we didn't see much of them when we were growing up but make efforts to see one another now that we are all old and everything. They treated us like...

2011 Explorations

Jan 21, 2011 - Richmond, Texas

Richmond, TX is just west of Houston. We're visiting Bill's cousin Sandra Walker White and her husband James. Sandra is the second daughter of Bill's mother's brother Ed. Sandra and James are wonderful hosts and it is a delight to reminisce about family history and genealogy. We will undoubtedly visit them whenever our travels take us anywhere near Texas.

Nov 14, 2009 - Goliad, TX to Richmond, TX

Departure time: 12:15pm Arrival time: 4:30pm 146 Miles We really didn’t want to leave this morning, the park is so nice. Now that we will be towing a full trailer, with a longer tongue and an extension of the trailer beyond the car length, the rig will be much longer than with the tow dolly. This will present some problems with RV parks that do not have spaces big enough to accommodate us. Going in to Houston is in itself a challenge so we spent time this morning locating a park with big enough spaces. Unfortunately, the park we found is...

Feb 23, 2008 - Pickup New Trailer

We picked up our new trailer in Richmond, TX (West-Southwest of Houston). It's a 2002 Coachman Cascade -- 26ft with triple bunks in the back and a queen in the front. No slides, but plenty of room for us four. Once we had the paperwork signed and had a quick review of all the systems, we hitched-up and headed to the Gulf of Mexico to try it out.
