Nov 18, 2006 - Blessing TX, Chaparral RV Resort, Elev 37 ft

We arrived in Blessing TX today, after a 5 hour drive. We're still very close to the Gulf coast but just further north. We'll be here for 3 nights then on our way north of Houston. You'll notice that we've gained 37' in elevation! WOW! It is really amazing how flat this part of the country is. We plan on doing some more site seeing Sunday and we'll post some more pictures when we're back. I'm sure we'll do more geocaching too.

Mar 10, 2006 - Lagoons RV Resort, Rockport, TX

March 9 - On the road again! Diane and I had our last walk around the park, feeding the various dogs that we have made friends with. Meanwhile Mike was busy so that by the time we got back we were ready to hook up and go. Several friends came over to see us off; we were both pleased and touched, and glad that we will be seeing them again next winter. It was good to be on the road again. Jan 18, 2006 - Aransas Wildlife Refuge

Today we went up to the Aransas Widlife Refuge, a delightful place about 50 miles north of Corpus Christi on Texas' gulf coast. I'd often heard about this place , mostly from "birders". As you may know Texas' coastal bend is a temporary home to thousands of bird specie migrating south in the fall and north in the spring. This Refuge is a world famous spot because of the whooping crane's breeding in these salt marshes.
