Jun 26, 2010 - Saturday June 26

June 26- We drove north to I-20, then east through Shreveport and into Texas. We stopped at the Welcome Center for lunch and to pick up Texas information. From there, we continued west on I-20 from exit 655, to exit 516, north on Farm Road 47 to Point Texas and the Thousand Trails Preserve at Lake Tawakoni. This could be one of the nicest parks that we have ever been to if Equity Properties would put some money into the park. The sites were beautiful and the area spectacular, but the electric was only 30 amp and the roads desperately need...

Mar 26, 2010 - Point, TX - Lake Tawakoni Preserve

This was our first visit to Thousand Trails Lake Tawakoni and we had lake front property for the night. There were a lot of white pelicans, coots, white eggrets, blue herons and mallards on the lake. We had our dinner and evening cocktails by the fire as we watched the beautiful sunset. Some of the sites were pretty wet but we found a nice dry one. the park is only open for weekends at this time of year.

Rojoe 2009-2010

Apr 27, 2009 - Lake Tawakoni TT - Point, TX

We arrived at our latest destination on Sunday April 19. This park is very similar to other Texas TT parks. It is directly on the lake and has lots of trees and grass areas. During the storms in conroe, the trays filled with water and it appears it ruined many of the seeds. Dan replanted the ones that looked like they were not growing. The corn is doing really well...

Aug 6, 2008 - On to Lake Tawakini

8/6/08 - Left Texoma today and drove the 110 miles to Thousand Trails at Lake Tawakini. Lake Tawakini is about 30 east of Dallas and 30 miles south of Greenville. The last week at Texoma was horrible. Hi's around 110 in the shade. Suicidal weather. You consider you might be better off by blowing your brains out.

Magsdens Adventures

Jul 29, 2007 - Thousand Trails, Point, Texas

What a nice campground. We decided we would stay here for a few days before heading on to Mississippi. It was a good thing we decided to stay - I got pretty sick. Got some kind of blood infection. However, even that turned out to be an adventure! David asked at the campground office for a doctor or clinic. We were told to go to Rains Family Healthcare in Emory, Texas, that the doctor there was 'pretty good'. The clinic was a Rural Health Clinic. The clinic was very clean, big with large rooms and examining rooms. The doctor walked in...
