Sep 23, 2016 - Thousand Trails Lake Tawakoni

I got back to Tawakoni last Wednesday. It has continued to be warm until today. High today is predicted to be 74 degrees. I have been able to see and talk to 4 different couples since I have been here. I hate to admit this but eating out is a great place to run into friends. Thursday evening I went to eat over in Emory and ran into Putz and his wife. Went back in and talked to them while they eat. Then Friday night I went over to eat at a Fish restaurant on Lake Fork. While eating John and Laura came in to eat. I went over to speak to them....

Nov 12, 2015 - Back to TT at Lake Tawakoni

Made it back Lake Tawakoni TT. Lived on this lake for about 23 years. Lots of feelings here. All the RV's in these two pictures are all extended stay plan. Section C has very few sites for traveling members to get a Lake view site. This really makes me angry. Here are a couple of pictures of my motorcycle. I took it to Shawnee, OK yesterday morning so my friend Dave can take it to Arizona for me. Dave left Shawnee about 9 yesterday morning and was at Apache Junction, AZ about 1 this am. He did not let any grass grow under him during this...

Nov 24, 2014 - Made it back to Lake Tawakoni

I did not leave Lake Texoma soon enough. The first two pictures were taken the day I left. Needless to say it was cold. While at Texoma I was able to play games with some other campers and on Saturday before I left we had a Thanksgiving Dinner. There was about 70 people there. It continued to be cold at Lake Tawakoni. It was between 25 and 30 degrees the first 4 nights down here. I spent more time in the RV than I wanted to, went on a couple of drives, played a lot of games on the computer and watched several movies. The last picture is all...

Oct 21, 2014 - Back at Lake Tawakoni

In many respects it is good to be back to Lake Tawakoni. Many good memories here and a couple of sad ones. This will be mainly 2 weeks of rest, visiting with friends and going out to eat at some favorite restaurants. When I come back in a month it will be a busy 2 weeks. Need to have truck worked on, need to go to doctor and I am sure I will think of more that needs to be done. The lakes here in Texas are really low. Texoma is about 8 feet low according to the news that I saw. It looks lower than that to me. Tawakoni is about 11 feet low...

Nov 7, 2013 - Back to Lake Tawakoni

I am back at Thousand Trails on Lake Tawakoni. For those of you that do not know - this is where I have lived for the past 8 years when I was not in the semi. Looking forward to see who will be out this weekend. While driving back to TT I stopped at the East Texas Oil Museum at Kilgore College, Kilgore, TX. I have been wanting to visit this Museum for about 20 years. Oil was discovered during 1930 and 1931. In August, 1931 they produced more than One Million Gallons. If you are crossing Texas on Interstate 20 and coming up on Kilgore - you...

Jun 26, 2010 - Saturday June 26

June 26- We drove north to I-20, then east through Shreveport and into Texas. We stopped at the Welcome Center for lunch and to pick up Texas information. From there, we continued west on I-20 from exit 655, to exit 516, north on Farm Road 47 to Point Texas and the Thousand Trails Preserve at Lake Tawakoni. This could be one of the nicest parks that we have ever been to if Equity Properties would put some money into the park. The sites were beautiful and the area spectacular, but the electric was only 30 amp and the roads desperately need...

Mar 26, 2010 - Point, TX - Lake Tawakoni Preserve

This was our first visit to Thousand Trails Lake Tawakoni and we had lake front property for the night. There were a lot of white pelicans, coots, white eggrets, blue herons and mallards on the lake. We had our dinner and evening cocktails by the fire as we watched the beautiful sunset. Some of the sites were pretty wet but we found a nice dry one. the park is only open for weekends at this time of year.

Rojoe 2009-2010

Apr 27, 2009 - Lake Tawakoni TT - Point, TX

We arrived at our latest destination on Sunday April 19. This park is very similar to other Texas TT parks. It is directly on the lake and has lots of trees and grass areas. We put our bird feeder out again and have enjoyed all the wildlife that comes around during the day. It looks like we are having a little trouble with the start-up of our garden. During the storms in conroe, the trays filled with water and it appears it ruined many of the seeds. Dan replanted the ones that looked like they were not growing. The corn is doing really well...

Aug 6, 2008 - On to Lake Tawakini

8/6/08 - Left Texoma today and drove the 110 miles to Thousand Trails at Lake Tawakini. Lake Tawakini is about 30 east of Dallas and 30 miles south of Greenville. The last week at Texoma was horrible. Hi's around 110 in the shade. Suicidal weather. You consider you might be better off by blowing your brains out.

Magsdens Adventures

Jul 29, 2007 - Thousand Trails, Point, Texas

What a nice campground. We decided we would stay here for a few days before heading on to Mississippi. It was a good thing we decided to stay - I got pretty sick. Got some kind of blood infection. However, even that turned out to be an adventure! David asked at the campground office for a doctor or clinic. We were told to go to Rains Family Healthcare in Emory, Texas, that the doctor there was 'pretty good'. The clinic was a Rural Health Clinic. The clinic was very clean, big with large rooms and examining rooms. The doctor walked in...
