Today I went to Mason to see the Mason County Courthouse with its rock wall and clock tower. I also saw other historic buildings. After my visit I drove along US 87 east of Mason, where I saw fields of wildflowers. Mason is the county seat of Mason County. The current (third) courthouse was designed by E C Hosford in Classical Revival style and built in 1909-10. It was restored in the 1980s.
