Oct 26, 2011 - BTT for a Spell

We drove in to Mansfield on Wednesday and got set up at Texan RV where we usually stay, and our daughter Amanda met us at Spring Creek Barbecue for lunch. It was really great to see her after such a long time. It was way too hot in Texas, but I know that a cool front is supposed to be coming in, so we're ready for that. We attended our granddaughter Madeleine's football game that afternoon so we could hear her play in the band and also got to meet our foreign exchange granddaughter Sijla (Seeljah) She has been living with Amanda and Robert...

Two Hams in a Can

Nov 25, 2010 - Grandchildren are God's way of compensating us for growing old.

I can't believe it's been over a month since I did a blog! As one frog said to another, "Time's sure fun when you're having flies!" Since we've returned from Nacogdoches, we've had a lot of fun with family which, of course, is the reason that we're here and not somewhere else. With our daughter Amanda's home just minutes away, we're able to have lots of quality time with her and her family including our immensely intelligent and creative grandkids (a little Grandma pride sticking out there.) Madeleine who is now is her last year of...

Oct 3, 2010 - The Sun has Riz, and Here we is . . .

Long time since we sent out a blog, but we have been very busy. We had a nice two days in Little Rock at the Willow Beach CoE park. We've stayed there before, and the weather was so beautiful, if we hadn't been on a timetable, we would have stayed a week. Our plans were to leave Little Rock on Saturday, stay one night on the way and spend Sunday evening at Motorhomes of Texas' lot in preparation for our maintenance/repair work on Monday morning. Lucky for us, we called MoT on Thursday to get the gate code, and found that due to an...

After 8 months living At the Texan RV Ranch just outside of Mansfield, Texas I decided to move down to Waco, Texas. I am stay at a nice RV campground down here for a while. I am not sure how long I will be here before I move in or where I will head from here. Dec 31, 2009 - End of the year with no traveling

The last day of 2009 brings us to the end of the year where we didn't have any on the road travel. We began 2009 thinking we would never RV again, and we end it living in our new (to us) 1996 Foretravel U320 and anxiously awaiting leaving the area on Jan. 11, 2010. During 2009, we made our decision to get back on the road, began feverishly researching various types of Class A's, married our son off to a beautiful and talented young lady, had our son-in-law beat cancer, bought our new RV and moved in fulltime on November 10th. Although...

Oct 3, 2009 - Move to Mansfield, Texas

I moved to Texas about 2 months after the passing on my wife Linda. We had together for 30 years when she was taken suddenly by kidney cancer. Left Wisconsin after living there for more than 29 years. Now it is just my cat (Shadow) & I living full time in my motor home that I bought after my wife passed away. I rented a Post Office Box in Venus, Texas to have permanent mailing address. After my wife's passing there was nothing left for me in Wisconsin & NO more winters there.

May 19, 2009 - Baby Rabbits

Hi Everyone. I apologize for not updating everyone. It has been very hectic since we arrived in Texas. Ed and I are looking for work, but with the economy it has not been easy. Here are a few pictures and videos of some baby bunnies that have decided to nest in my brother in laws flower garden. We are guessing that the Momma rabbit moved them out of danger, but have not seen her. There are 2 left out of the 5 that were there. Hope you enjoy them. You have to watch the videos carefully to see them move, a movie maker I am not.

Mar 17, 2008 - Texan RV

// A one night stay. Ended up staying at Bennett's RV in Granbury where we were having some recall work completed on our Doubletree Mobile Suite. New brake pump and electrical harness. It cost me $$ to cancel our planned stay at Texan RV. We compromised. Bennett's RV was a nice place. I would stay there again. Granbury, TX is a nice community.

Mar 7, 2008 - Mansfield, Texas

Friday, March 7, 2008 We did a lot of driving while in San Marcos. We saw the Alamo, Mission San Jose, Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, O. Henry Museum, Tower of the Americas, Hemisfair Park, San Antonio River Walk, O. Henry House, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, LBJ Ranch and State Park, LBJ Boyhood Home, and Gruene. Canyon Trail RV Resort was one of the best RV parks where we had stayed. It was the first one where we could have had sandwiches, BBQ, or other food items delivered to the motorhome for dinners. When we got up at...
