Sep 30, 2013 - Update On Stay At Village Creek State Park

From Village Creek State Park – Lumberton, TX The first of our park hosting months has come to an end. We have spent time on many “projects” that had fallen through the cracks or forgotten on the back burner during our recent summer travels. We have also endured a horrific month of mayflies (love bugs to many) at times several hundred covering the exterior of the trailer. Many also took the suicide route on the truck mirrors, windshield and grill making daily soapy water scrubs necessary. Glad to say the current rains and cooler temps may...

Oct 16, 2009 - Touches of Fall

From Village Creek State Park – Lumberton, TX Temperatures in the 70’s, light northwesterly breezes, humidity in the low 40’s, clear blue skies with lots of sunshine made today a beautiful fall day in East Texas. Add to this a small local community holding its annual Harvest Festival and you have all the makings of a fantastic and delightful October day. Oh yes, lets not forget that fall in Texas means hunting season. So as you travel the roads on days close to or on the weekends during the fall season, one will see lots of pickup trucks;...

Oct 15, 2009 - Another Journey Begins

From Village Creek State Park – Lumberton, TX Back on the road again! Today, we again began to travel and will follow the highways and back roads until the end of the year. At that time, we will return to southeast Texas for annual medical visits and diagnostic testing needed to clear us for yet another year of this wonderful RV lifestyle. As we pulled out of Lily’s By The Bay in Hitchcock this AM, it was bittersweet as we did so solo and not with our wonderful travel buddies of the last 15 months. It is our hope that Sonny will continue...
