Nov 26, 2010 - no shopping for me today - other things get my interest!
I had a leisure morning, since check out time wasn't until noon, I only had 100 miles to drive, and planned on going to San Antonio in the late afternoon. When I was ready to leave the park, I went over and walked then played with Harley, John & Liz's shitzu who is a lot of fun! I traveled to a park 50 miles east of San Antonio instead of a Wal-mart for a couple of reasons. the parking lot would probably be quite crowded and the temperature is supposed to go below freezing tonight. Apr 17, 2008 - Luling with it's numerous oil pumps
Continuing south we headed for Luling. Luling was established in 1874 and served as a gathering point and supply center for cattle drivers along the Chisholm Trail. Cotton ruled the economy until oil was discovered in 1922. Almost 200 colorfully-decorated pump jacks are within the city limits. I stopped to take pictures of the colorful pumps that are everywhere. In church yards, bank parking lots, front yards, side yards and back yards of homes. I marveled at the tolerance of the residents who seem oblivious to their rhythmic pumping and...Jump to full entry
Apr 9, 2007 - Introducing Sweet Pea
Val took me to an early lunch today at Schlotzky's, where we had soup and chocolate chip cookie. Her daughter, Cindy, met us there. We had a good visit. Then Val took me to Fry's Electronics to buy Scrabble software. I had looked at several stores for it, without success. She had bought her copy at Fry's, so we were confident that I could get a copy, too. It was really nice of her to take me there.
