Lufkin, TX Lufkin RV Resort We had a very good experience at Foretravel Motorcoach in Nacogdoches today. We stopped at their manufacturing facility and went in to the Parts and Service department. What a nice group of people! We ended up talking with a man who has been with the Foretravel company for 30+ years. He had an abundance of knowledge and information and it seemed like he genuinely wanted to help us. We’re having problems with the entry door and a couple of latches on the outside compartments. Aug 20, 2012 - Livingston, TX to Lufkin, TX

Livingston, TX to Lufkin, TX 54 miles We spent last week in Livingston taking care of a few chores. We washed the motorhome, made a couple of minor repairs, and did a few other tasks. The weather was unbearably hot so the outside work was done in the morning and the evenings when the weather was a little more tolerable. Overall we did not care for the town of Livingston in general but the RV park was a pleasant place to catch up on a few things. Feb 19, 2009 - Lufkin, Texas

Leaving Fredericksburg, we decided to strike out across the Hill country using state roads to reach Lufkin. We passed thru the most pasture land, say more cattle than you could imagine, went thru Austin, and into Lufkin to visit Chuck's nephew and niece. They have an RV hookup just for us! Really? We had a good visit there, left this morning headed East. Right now we are in a roadside rest area in Louisiana just west of Baton Rouge. There are other RVs here and lots and lots of trucks. Sep 19, 2007 - Day Sixteen - Mesquite, TX to Lufkin, TX

We left Mesquite and headed out....for a little while at least. Our maps and GPS showed a great service road we could take, but as all Nav systems occasionally have outdated info, we discovered after about 5 miles, that this road had shrubs grown over it making it into a trail at best. We turned around and did a little highway instead. Headed for Lufkin, we passed lots of small towns...Grand Saline, Hawkins, Mineola, and Zavella. Oct 3, 2003 - Lufkin - Museum of East Texas and City Hall

Our last stop of the day was St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, where the Museum of East Texas is housed. The Museum of East Texas, which opened under the name “Lufkin Historical and Creative Arts Center” in 1976, was one of a number of Texas museums established in conjunction with the United States Bicentennial. It features temporary and permanent exhibitions on regional history and art. Then we stopped by the City Hall to see their first motorized fire truck.
