Sep 16, 2016 - Back to TT at Lake Texoma

Made it back to Texoma TT Sept 13th. I am not surprised that the temperatures are in the low 90's with 50 to 90% humidity. It might be a little warm but it is nice to get back to see friends. I spent Wednesday with my good friend Candy and will be playing games tonight with friends here at Texoma.

Nov 9, 2015 - Made it back to Texas / Christmas Present

Made it back to Texas and currently at Texoma. I got here on 9-27 and it has been a wild ride for the last 2 weeks. I bought myself another motorcycle for my Christmas present. I have pictures but they are in the camera which is in the motorcycle. I did not bring the motorcycle to Texoma because I would have to figure out how to move it to Tawakoni when I went there. So I took it to Seagoville. I will post pictures on my next update. Part of the wild ride has been trying to figure out how to get the motorcycle to Arizona. My life style can...

Dec 5, 2014 - Looking forward to next week

I am really looking forward to next week. Candy and I are having dinner Sunday and then going to a Christmas show. Should be fun but sad. Candy is a really good friend and I will miss her while I am gone. Sure glad the telephone will work where ever I am. Then Wednesday I have a Dr. appointment. THEN Thursday I am leaving for my next big trip. I am really looking forward to a warm Winter, new friends, square dancing and site seeing in an area I have not spent very much time in - Apache Junction, AZ. area. Had a very nice Thanksgiving with...

Nov 8, 2014 - Made it back to Lake Texoma

Well I am back at Thousand Trails on Lake Texoma. Sometimes I am cheap and sometimes I am not. I am here for two weeks because it was the cheapest place to go for 2 weeks while I am waiting to go to Apache Junction for the winter. The weather forecast for the rest of my stay here starting next Tuesday is Highs in the 40s and Lows in the LOW 30s and UPPER 20s for the rest of my stay. It was only 100 miles farther from TT on Lake Tawakoni to TT on Lake Conroe down close to Houston. According to the internet weather for that same time period...

Oct 9, 2014 - Back in RV

Barbara is now able to care for herself. I left Wichita and got to Thousand Trails on Texoma Lake 10-9. Have not done a whole lot since I have been here. Have been down to Frisco and had dinner with my friend Candy. Then Candy and I went to the Texas State Fair. I went to Grapevine for a square dance. My friend Lynn is still in NC. It did not work out for us to travel together. I will be leaving here on Monday 10-20 to take RV to RV Station in Colbert, OK for some warranty repairs and then on to Thousand Trails on Lake Tawakoni. This is...

Aug 28, 2014 - Gordonville, TX

GORDONVILLE, TX. 8/28-8/30 – Got out pretty much on time from Oklahoma City and without incident this AM. Not much to tell about the trip until we got into Gordonville. Ned had told me we would be out in the boondocks when we were here but as we are getting into Gordonville there are really, nice large horse farms. Advertisements for new resort lakeside homes, there is a golf course and I Say “Hey Gordonville is pretty nice” Then we make our turn--- Sheppard AF Base Annex Resort Lake Texacoma. Sounds good – the road gets narrow, holes—no...

Nov 21, 2013 - Left a day early.

I left a day early due to the weather that is predicted for the next few days. It might be worse up here but I will not have to hookup the trailer and pull it and set it up in the rain tomorrow. Did not spend much time at Hickory Creek. It was a peaceful campground for being in the middle of the city.

Aug 17, 2011 - Car dolly arrives!

After waiting longer than we expected, the car dolly arrived at our site in TX today. Of course, it's 105 degrees which makes working outside pretty miserable. But, it's here! It has a new fasten down system that doesn't use straps and looks so much easier to use. A chain on each side goes from front to back over the front axle of the car. We just have to be sure that no brake lines or other crushable lines are under the chains when they're tightened down. So now we get to ride together on our travels. Not sure yet if that's a good thing,...

Aug 12, 2011 - From Branson to TX

Our 9 days in Branson are over. Yesterday we traveled 380 miles (9 hours) from Branson here to Gordonville TX and the Lake Texoma Thousand Trails - one of our membership parks that we've never been to before. Gordonville is about 95 miles north of Dallas and 3 miles south of the Oklahoma border. The ride here wasn't bad. Even had rain all the way through Oklahoma. The poor folks down here need the rain so badly! We had a great time in Branson! Enjoyed the shows. Our favorites in order were: Shoji; Brett Family (another 1/2 price show from...

Apr 22, 2011 - First George Town Trip

Great Start, We went with JR and Lisa with Kids. We set up well with only one problem. I forget the remote control to set up the Satellite for the first time. Day two in the morning site open next to Lisa and JR. We broke down and set up next to them. Kids had Easter egg hunt and played games. Very bad weather at night and we had to spend 2 hours in the park bathroom. Weather past and everything was OK with the Georgetown. I happy that I was able to close up the RV in Minutes.

Spent a wild couple nights in northern Texas while the tornadoes started a brutal season...2 people were killed right across the lake from the park in Oklahoma 40 miles to the north. Casarina barked and carried on most of the 86 miles up from Pat's on this trip.

Jul 5, 2010 - Thursday July 1- Monday July 5 @ Lake Texoma

Thursday July 1 was a quiet day in the park with us riding our bikes in the morning before it became too hot, water aerobics class, an afternoon nap and early to bed. Friday July 2 we went to the family center for the freshly baked cinnamon rolls for breakfast and worked them off riding our bikes and in water aerobics class. Saturday July 3 was another quiet day. Our plan was to watch the fireworks that the preserve was providing, but at about 8 PM we looked out the window and decided that fireworks were going to have to wait. There was a...
