Jun 7, 2012 - Dinoasur Valley Park TX

We stayed one night in the Dinoasure Valley State Park in Glen Rose TX and Larry got to see the tracks of the big ones in the river bed. We have stayed in the Cleburne State Park for the last two days and the internet connection there was very bad so I am catching up. We are now in an RV Park with FULL hookups and free internet in Denton TX. I am beginning to like the RV park mutch better than the state parks and the cost is about the same in TX. We visited yesterday with old friends in Cleburne. REally enjoyed seeing Brenda and Jerry Webb...

Go West Trip 2012

Mar 29, 2012 - Glen Rose

After getting over the shock of the 'clothing optional' RV park we wandered off to Glen Rose which is about 35 miles south west of the Dallas Fort Worth area. A nice relaxing place but sometimes very cold. At the RV park we spotted a really impressive Egyptian Goose. There are heaps more at a nearby golf course. What happened, was years ago some nice lady brought a couple of these Egyptian Geese over from guess where? She managed to leave the cage door open and they escaped to the golf course where they had a great time mating and building...

Jun 16, 2010 - Dinosaur State Park

Day 6 Dinosaur State Park We made it out this morning :-) Joe & I (and Tim, Swan & Patricia too) were up at 6 AM. We wanted to be sure that when the workers came we could catch them before they started to dig again. They moved the piece of equipment blocking our way and we were able to leave without any more problems. Tim was up at this time for an early morning Bible Study/breakfast he has on Wednesdays. Swan & Patricia were up to go to IHOP where Tim was…for all of us to meet and have breakfast together. Wasn’t that wonderful of them to...

Jun 11, 2009 - Glen Rose Texas

The Courthouse stands where most Courthouses seem to be built, in the center of town square, small shops over time are added, some are two stories tall, providing at one time a small home where the shop owner once lived, now it's used for storage of memories and of things. Glen Rose is no different, it's a small Texan town, one of many I would guess but also quite different then the others as this town central has a uniqueness to it that you wouldn't find elsewhere. The Courthouse is quite massive in size, built in the 1800's, built to...

Nov 28, 2007 - Dinosaur State Park

Headed off today to the Dinosaur State Park by Glen Rose. Here in the Paluxy River you can see fossilized dinosaur tracks. Unfortunately, the narrative descriptions about their origin and place in history are from an evolutionary perspective, which we don't subscribe to. But yet, there is a Creation Evidences Museum nearby refuting such evolutionary claims. We were here several years ago and were allowed on private property at that time, giving us access to an area of the river where we were able to see human footprints inside the dinosaur...

Jan 19, 2001 - 1997 April 18 - Glen Rose - Dinosaur Valley State Park

Today I drove down to Glen Rose to visit the Dinosaur Valley State Park and the Creation Evidences Museum, both of which were very interesting. The park is located just northwest of Glen Rose in Somervell County. It is a 1524.72-acre, scenic park set astride the Paluxy River. The land for the park was acquired from private owners under the State Parks Bonds Program during 1968 and opened to the public in 1972. Eastward-dipping limestone, sandstone and mudstone deposits form the geological setting for the park area. These layered formations...

Jan 17, 2001 - 1994 March 5 (A.M.) - Camera Club Field Trip - Glen Rose

Today my camera club took a day trip to Glen Rose. Our first stop was at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Preserve, where we rode in the back of a pickup so as to get clearer photos of the animals. We had the driver kill the engine every time we stopped so as to reduce vibrations. After our tour of the preserve, we went into town to get a few photos.

Jan 16, 2001 - 1993 September 6 - Glen Rose – “The Promise”

Today I went to Glen Rose to see the outdoor drama, “The Promise”. It was very well done. I was a bit disappointed, though, that the man who played the part of Jesus had long blond hair! I thought that he should have had black hair and beard because Jesus was from a part of the world where the people have dark skin and black hair.
