May 21, 2020 - Free At Last!
We hope this latest edition of our “travel” journal finds you, and your family, safe and healthy. I put the word travel in quotes because we haven’t been on the road for 80 (!!) days. We left Fredericksburg, TX and headed to watch Kaia for a few days so Kelli could accompany Dan on a business trip. We intended to watch her and stay a few more weeks then get back on the road but all this nonsense derailed our plans. We were going to slowly make our way to Charlotte, NC to attend the Coca Cola 600 NASCAR race where we had infield camping...Jump to full entry
Mar 30, 2020 - RV Self Distancing
We are currently in Frisco, Texas waiting out this craziness that is the Covid-19 pandemic, fortunately we are near Kelli, Dan and Kaia so we have a bit of a diversion to our self-quarantine status. We were able to get a month long spot at Hidden Cove RV and Marina campground about 5 miles from their house that sits on Lewisville Lake. Our spot has a partial view of the lake with lots of space between sites, the campground is doing a good job of self-distancing….all these terms we had never heard of 3 weeks ago! We are taking this “time...Jump to full entry
Oct 7, 2019 - Kaia Time
After Kaia spent the night we traveled to Fort Worth to visit the famous stockyards. The Fort Worth Stockyards are a historic district and encompasses 98 acres and was once the former livestock market which was opened in 1866. At one point they sold over a million cattle each year and not only did they deal in cattle but also sheep and hogs. The stockyards thrived until the 1950’s when auctions were held closer to where the livestock were originally produced. Today the stockyards celebrate the tradition with the highlight being a “stampede”...Jump to full entry
Feb 16, 2019 - Texas Hospitality and Lots of Kaia Time
After we left Alamagordo we stopped overnight in Brownfield, Texas and pushed through to Frisco, Texas to surprise Kelli and Kaia. Dan was in on the surprise and we kept him up to date as we traveled from western Texas to their new home just north of Dallas. Kelli, Dan and Kaia moved to Texas at the beginning of December; Dan works for an aerospace company based in Alabama but he works the majority of the time he works remotely from home. Kelli got her Texas RN license and is working part-time at a women’s and children’s hospital very close...Jump to full entry
May 20, 2012 - Big New Building, Old Fashion Style
We've spent the last 3 days in a Carrollton, TX. I think we were the only travelers. Everyone else in the park lived there. They all have jobs and cars and come back at night to their motor home. I'm not sure if we would want to live in our motor home full-time in one location. The joy and pain is unplugging and traveling to the next destination. When Charles lived in the Los Angeles area he attended a church pastored by Chuck Swindoll. So, we had to see him. He must be in his late 70's. The church was huge! No coffee bar, no bookstore, no...Jump to full entry
Oct 19, 2011 - A 6 Tire Trip
We spent last night in Shreveport as we waited to leave Vicksburg because of a line of thunderstorms were heading east across Louisiana. As it turned out--the storms fell apart. So we headed west on I-20 and on our maps found a rest stop about 1/2 way between Shreveport and Vicksburg.--Surprise--the rest stop on the west bound lane was closed but the east bound rest stop was packed and open. It looks like Louisiana is pulling an Arizona trick-last year Arizona closed all the rest stops on I-40--BAD IDEA--long hauls and no rest stops. I...Jump to full entry
Jul 3, 2011 - All 3 Girls in the RV!
We arrived at a new RV Park that is very close to David's home. It is a great improvement over the previous location--it has a very nice pool, game room, no sticker burrs! Nice sites. We got all three girls and due to a little mess us--no key to David's Home--we took everyone to the RV. It was Rowyn's first trip and she had a great time for a 1 year old. Everything was new and not very far for her to walk. After a hot dog dinner, we were able to take them home and get set for a nice visit. On the 4th of July, we took the Girls over to swim...Jump to full entry

Business article Michael Eckerman Arizona - Michael Eckerman brings Fraud Alerts - What You Need to Know About Them
By Gary Grant
Identity theft is a growing problem. And one way of controlling it is to be notified anytime a credit card or bank loan is opened under your name. Sure, you can check your credit report regularly, but in addition to that, it's never a bad idea to call the three major credit bureaus and place a fraud alert on your accounts.
Michael Eckerman with fraud news.
What is a fraud alert? Fraud...
Oct 10, 2010 - Grand Kids in Frisco, Texas
We got back to Texas last night when we stayed in Goodlet at a small RV Park that was OK except the RR was very busy. The most interest sight was the F150 pickup pulling a small 26 foot 5th wheel and a 21 foot pontoon boat. Yes--it was a F150 but I did not see it move or try to stop. Overloading a truck would be an understatement! So we are in Frisco, visiting the Grand Kids who all are health and cute as ever. We visited a local pumpkin patch yesterday for the traditional hay ride and everyone got a pumpkin. We will be heading home on...Jump to full entry

Michael Eckerman Realty fraud trial set to begin
A Delray Beach-based businessman goes on trial this week in federal court, charged with using forged signatures of dead people to sell their Lee County property.
Michael Eckerman with fraud news.
A complaint filed by federal prosecutors in December 2009 alleges that, starting in 2003, Jacob Ben-Ari, who is also known as Jack Levinson, researched delinquent tax rolls in Lee to find properties where taxes were unpaid.
Ben-Ari would find investors and prepare deeds to...
Nov 1, 2009 - Friendly Frisco, TX
Frisco, TX is a sprawling suburb located about 20 miles north of Dallas, and is in the throes of rapid growth. Boulevards have been constructed in the middle of pasture land; new residential and commercial properties under construction in every direction; upscale retail establishments clustered in shopping centers every couple of miles; a medical center with an admission area that would rival the lobby of a five-star hotel. (More about that visit later!) No matter where we go, some things stay the same! And in Frisco, donut shops and police...Jump to full entry
Oct 28, 2009 - Ride to the Grand Kids
We drove to Frisco, Texas, today--actually we are just north of Frisco. The visit to David, Jessica, Skylar and Brayden is always fun. Everyone is doing well with Brayden having her 4th birthday when we arrived. It was a fun family party. Brayden is in twice a week pre-school and Skylar is in all week Kindergarten. Both the girls really like school with their great teachers and wonderful friends.Jump to full entry
