Apr 1, 2010 - Trailer Slide Repairs

April 1, 2010: The truck arrived with the slide parts. YEA!!! April 2, 2010: Murphy started on the repair job. It was expected that this would take two days and require complete removal of the large slide. Upon opening the shipping container we find the wrong color rivets were sent. Luckily Murphy had picked up some of both sizes with the correct color. There is a very minor ding to the panel but it is fixable. The inside trim on the slide is removed first and then the flange that holds the trim and stops the outward movement of the slide...

Hither N Yon 2010

Mar 3, 2010 - Lone Star Corral SKP Co-Op

Arrived at Lone Star Corral, Hondo, Texas. We parked on Site 89. Went to 4:00 p.m. social hour and met another Guthrie, hummmmmmmm two Guthries in one park, this should be interesting. Went to one of the recommended restaurants by the name of Bill and Rosa's Steakhouse and saloon. We were advised to only order the small portion. Bob ordered a half order of the Bill's Cheesy Chicken Fried Steak. This restaurant does not throw the rolls, but the portions were huge like Lambert's in Foley, Alabama. Definitely a must return to this...

Hither N Yon 2010

Feb 26, 2009 - D'Hanis, Texas

It was nice to get a slow start this morning. Even though I got up at my normal 5 AM, I still had my pajamas on at 8 having enjoyed a blessed 3 hours of coffee sipping, reading, and an hour of the Today show. I did manage to get myself dressed before going out for our morning walk. Today turned out to be another hot one in the mid 80s and very humid. Even as early as 8:30 the humidity was hanging in the air. The morning was filled with a few chores and internet surfing. After lunch we hopped in the truck to tour D’Hanis, Texas. This...
