Apr 3, 2019 - No wind, Abby and almost home...

The forecast on the wind was correct. All weekend it tried to blow us off the lot at Cummins in El Paso. But, on Monday morning is was extremely tolerable...like 5 - 8 mph. We were up at 5:00 to get ready to head east. We got ready and moved the Bus around 6:45 a.m. By 7:00 the truck was hooked up and we were headed out. The first stop was Flying J about a quarter of a mile from our Cummins location. We topped off the tank and hit the road at 7:30 a.m. WooHoo! ! ! We finally were getting to head back to Arkansas. Our goal was to make it to...

Jul 22, 2017 - Westward Ho

Today is really our third day of our trip out west. We started on at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, with Tim driving, Nancy as co-pilot and Bill and I in the back seat of their Ram Truck pulling the Crusader. Of course, Tim had it all under control with his Garmin directing him. We stopped the first night in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the Riverside RV Resort and Campground. On the way there, I called Teri...

Dec 6, 2011 - Carthage, TX

December 6, 2011 Camped two nights in Carthage, TX- temperature 42 Carthage RV Park, a very nice campground with concrete pads, and cable. We spent two nights to rest and study where to head next. A cold front is pushing down from the north but temperatures are getting warmer as we head south. The area we hope to be in is supposed to be in the 70’s next week, which would be great. No Photos

Nov 18, 2008 - Carthage, Texas

Today was a travel day. We headed southwest on Interstate 30 and turned onto Highway 59 at the border of Arkansas and Texas in Texarcana and headed south. The weather was clear and the morning air was crisp, another perfect fall day. Surprisingly, the truck traffic on the Interstate was not too heavy, so we decided to just stay on it. Once we got into Texas, we discovered that Highway 59 was nice and wide and the traffic was pretty minimal. Evidently, the trucks do not like this route as there are traffic stop lights occasionally as the...
