Buescher is not pronounced "BUE–SCHER". It is pronounced "BISH-ER" as in FISHER. And that’s where we are. Or some people would say “Lost Pines of Texas”. Or “near Smithville”. No matter. Even in 100+ temperatures, it is a beautiful state park. Adjacent to Bastrop State Park, notorious now for the big fire on Labor Day just last year, Buescher State Park was named after the family who donated the land for the park.
