Apr 9, 2008 - Newmar Fulltimers Rally in Brenham Texas

We arrived at the rally on Saturday and were greeted by Jim and Lucille Wiles that was hosting the rally. They directed us to our spot and we setup. About half the group arrived today and the other half arrived on Sunday. There was a total of 16 Newmar Rigs here. Several of the folks that are here we knew from previous rallies, so it is really great seeing them again. Our good friends Don and Alice Faye taught us a new game called Pegs and Jokers. Oct 4, 2003 - Brenham - Brenham Heritage Museum

After my visit to Fireman’s Park I was ready for some good Blue Bell ice cream. (Brenham is the home of the Blue Bell Creameries.) Then I was ready to visit the Brenham Heritage Museum. The museum is housed in Brenham’s former U. S. Post Office. It is a Classical Revival structure built in 1915 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Oct 4, 2003 - Brenham - Fireman's Park

Today Vee and I went our separate ways again. She went back home to College Station and I headed for Brenham. My first stop was at the Fireman’s Park. It was established in 1884 and used by the Fire Department for their Maifest Celebrations from 1881 until 1941. It was given to the City of Brenham on March 14, 1917, “for cancellation of the department’s indebtedness to the city.”
