Apr 1, 2019 - April 1, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas

April 1, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas I made it to the place to get the coach inspected at 8:45 a.m. which was 15 minutes before they began doing inspections. However, despite the fact that they told me they could inspect the coach, they decided they couldn’t because it has air brakes. They sent me to Portland where I did get it inspected. This place also does car maintenance so when I need an oil change or anything else done to the car I will go there. When I got back to the park, I parked in a pull through and proceed to hook the car up so...

Mar 31, 2019 - March 24-31, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas

March 24-31, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas March 24 – It was a nice day today, and I spent the day doing some reading and crossword puzzles. The wind was blowing lightly, and I had the windows open. I made reservations at a Core of Engineers park in Purdon, Texas for Tuesday-Thursday (April 2-4) nights. That leaves Friday night that I need to make a reservation for. I’ll have to decide where I want to spend Friday night (5th) and get a reservation made there. I already have a reservation for Saturday night (6th) in Wichita. Then on the 7th...

Mar 23, 2019 - March 17-23, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas

March 17-23, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas March 17 – It was raining again this morning. It finally cleared off around noon. I watched some TV and read. It cleared off around noon and turned into a pretty nice day. In order to get my lawn chair out to take to the fish fry I had to put the stuff from the trunk, which I’d removed so they could detail the car, back into the trunk. I hadn’t been out until then, but it was pleasant. I was worried that it was going to cold and rainy for the fish fry, but it turned into a really nice day with the...

Mar 16, 2019 - March 10-16, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas

March 10-16, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas March 10 – I got over to the storage unit and got things which I’m not going to carry with me this summer put in storage. Otherwise, I spent the day reading. I just got an email that I had been pwned. My email and password have been stolen. The only thing I can do is start changing all my passwords. March 11 – After my walk this morning, I got an email from Firefox confirming last night’s message. I’ve started changing passwords, but since I have over 125 sites to change passwords on, it is going to...

Mar 9, 2019 - March 1-9, 2018 – Aransas Pass, Texas

March 1-9, 2018 – Aransas Pass, Texas March 1 – It doesn’t seem possible that in just 4 weeks I’ll be heading north. I paid my monthly rent for the last time this morning. I also made arrangements to stay the night of April 1st in a pull-through spot. That way, I can take the coach for its inspection without hooking up the car and then traveling on north afterwards. I would get a late start if I waited until after the inspection not to mention having to hook-up the car, unhook it for the inspection and then hook-up again, and I really...

February 10-16, 2019 – Aransas Pass. Texas February 10 – I was up fairly early, and although it was sprinkling and a bit foggy, I decided to run into Corpus to the grocery store. There were a few things that I needed. I was able to get done and be back home by 10. It rained most of the night, but it finally cleared off around 1 this afternoon. The sun actually came out although it took me a while to recognize it as I haven’t seen it for several days. I finished reading a book and have spent the rest of the day doing crossword puzzles. I...

February 1-9, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas February 1 – After exercise this morning, I paid my rent for this month. After that I worked on travel stuff before taking a long nap. February 2 – It rained most of the day, and it was foggy. I never even stuck my nose out the door. I just spent the day reading. Jan 31, 2019 - January 27-31, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas

January 27-31, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas January 27 – It was raining this morning, but it cleared off this afternoon and was warm enough to have some of the windows open. The good news is that I didn’t have any leak so they must have found the right place. I’ve spent the day working on travel stuff and doing laundry. Not very exciting but the laundry had to be done, and black water tank emptied. Now, I’m good for another 2 weeks. January 28 – This morning I went to Port Aransas to the hobby fair they were having. Betty had a table with...

Jan 30, 2019 - Heal the Pain

What a different experience this trip to Port Aransas/Aransas Pass/Rockport has been for me during the month of January. First of all, we didn’t drive Gypsy. Secondly, we didn’t have Presley with us. I can best describe this first month of 2019 as one of reflection, healing, sacrificing, and just “carpe dieming” (yes, I think I made up a word). Now, about the Port Aransas territory. Texas continues to amaze me with its varietal ecosystems. This area is a well known fishing and birding sanctuary. There are over 120 different types of birds...

Jan 26, 2019 - January 20-26, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas

January 20-26, 2019 – Aransas Pass, Texas January 20 – The wind was blowing hard again today so I just stayed put. I was reading the Ernie Pyle book and found it fascinating to read a contemporary account of the campaigns which Pyle covered. He wrote about the men that he met who were just ordinary guys doing a nasty job. This evening, I watched the eclipse of the moon. I gave it up at 11 when the moon was in full eclipse. I guess I gave up too soon because I never saw the red color which you were supposed to see. January 21 – I have spent...
