April 27, 2013 – Port Lavaca, Port O’Connor, Seadrift and Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Texas Today I got a late start because I went to bed early last night and didn’t lay out my itinerary for today so I had to get organized before I could set out. I’m staying here through Tuesday as there is quite a bit to see in this area. My first stop today was at Port Lavaca to see the Halfmoon Lighthouse. Mar 8, 2011 - Aransas National Wildlife Center

We ventured out a little farther today and headed to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. We decided to try a new trail today and we headed down the Big Tree Trail. As we were walking we kept noticing mashed down grass and decided that it looked like an alligator trail. We saw several of these along the path and then we started seeing the gators. The first one was enormous and the one after that was bigger and it kept on going. I've never been around that many of these huge prehistoric beasts before and they really were not that far from...
