Big Bend Excitement

Mar 10, 2013 - Anahuac NWR Smith Point

This is part two of our Anahuac Wildlife tour, we drove the 10 mile drive through the marsh to Galveston Bay, ending at Smith Point. I have never seen so many ducks in one place in my life. My favorite camera is in shop and I totally forgot to take my other zoom camera, the pictures are not great but they will give birders a good idea of the amount of birds in this area. This is the "BEST" birding area I have seen other than Alaska. Don't miss this one. This area is also known for alligators. We saw a mama gator with 20 babies on the bank...
