Jun 15, 2018 - Rocky Top Tennessee

After our short visit to the Newnan, Georgia area we traveled from there to a small town outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, Walland. Walland sits at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains and we stayed at a gorgeous campground that was situated amongst the trees of Miller’s Cove and adjacent to the Little River. We have our friends, James and Linda,to thank for this recommendation and part of the reason we stayed here was to see them and their 3 adorable children. We had a fun evening BBQ’ing and catching up; the twins have grown so much and...

East Bound and Down

Apr 18, 2010 - Walland, TN (Knoxville)

The uphill climb to our “home site” near Asheville, NC was well-worth the trek. Not only did our site have a beautiful view, the site itself became more beautiful while we were there. Our front lawn was home to a Japanese cherry tree that had buds on it when we arrived, fully bloomed in three days, and then “snowed” blossom petals during a strong breeze before we left. Mar 29, 2010 - Honey, We're Home

We arrived at Misty River Cabins and RV Park about mid afternoon. We have spent several months at this campground and it has the feel of coming home. A few years ago, Gene was asked by his boss to work out of the Knoxville office for a few months. This is the campground we made our home during the 9 months he worked in Knoxville. Since that time, we have stayed at Misty River for shorter visits on several occasions. The first time we were here, the campground was brand new, having been open for only about 6 months. As a new campground, it...

Scratchin' the Itch

Jan 17, 2010 - Our new digs!

We did it! We bought our new home away from home! It's a 2005 Cedar Creek 5th Wheel. Has everything we wanted and more! We're storing it at a campground and get to visit anytime we want, since it's a close distance to home. Rving came to us really quickly. We'd talked about it in the past, but never did it until this past Christmas, when we drove to West Virginia in a rented rv to play in the snow. We loved it - the peace and quiet and lack of stress. It didn't take us long to figure out that we could love this lifestyle. After much...
