Nov 19, 2009 - Shiloh Civil War battlefield

Tuesday, Nov. 17 A cool overcast day, just right for chores. Lotsa piled up laundry and Barb wanted a haircut. Accomplished both and that was about the day. On Wednesday we rambled up the road about 12 miles to the town of Savannah on the banks of the Tennessee River and went thru a very interesting museum on the river and riverboats. Then we drove thru town looking at some old houses (towns only about 9,000 pop) and walked outside around a mansion dating from 1830’s where General Grant stayed while he was in town for the battle. Nov 16, 2009 - Lazy days

Saturday, Nov. 14 Just a lazy kinda day. Didn’t do much of anything. Took a nice morning walk. Then Barb and I took a couple long walks just around the CG, it’s a big one so takes a while to just wander around it. Read a bunch too. Just a gorgeous day, mid 70’s. Sunday was another beautiful day. Took a hike out on a trail system, it is the rifle deer season down here too but this area was supposed to be in a closed area. Oct 8, 2006 - Grand Rivers, KY to Pickwick, TN

9/30 Grand Rivers, KY Well, we've been here for 4 days for R&R plus sightseeing. The marina, Green Turtle Bay, is a resort in the middle of the Land Between the Lakes KY. It is a neat little town with famous resturants. One was a country buffet that John just chowed on until his belly popped. The other has 2 inch pork chops to die for. Desserts....
