Aug 16, 2018 - Parkers Crossroads RV Park (8/12 - 8/13/18)

We spent 2 nights at Parker's Crossroads. We were given 'the best site on the hill', but I don't remember the site number. This is a wonderful RV park. All the sites are concrete and level with full hook-ups. They each have either a picnic table or small table with 2 chairs. There is a catch-and-release fishing pond on the property. Just down from our site is a gazebo with a big bench swing. After we got settled, I took advantage of the swing and read my book. There are 4 resident geese that came running over to investigate and see if we...

Sep 20, 2016 - Tennessee, Westbound

We left early this morning, aiming for a 400 mile day. We stopped just short of that at Parkers Crossroads RV Park. Parkers Crossroads is south west of Nashville on the I-40. Apparently, this was a big battleground during the Civil War. The park was easy; price was good at $31 with full hook-ups. The management couldn’t be more helpful. We will be sure to give them a good review. There was a big pond with a strange gathering of birds. I don’t know the names but there were 3 big ones that I am pretty sure were geese, 1 small black that was...

Mar 1, 2016 - Rain & another tire

Last night we had thunder and lighting and heavy rain. When we got up the rain was down to a drizzle. Linda said we could set it out a day which normally would have been Ok. But we were in the woods and I didn,t have satellite tv so I was ready to go. Even if it meant going just a little ways to another campground. Once we got going it wasn't to bad. Then it happened we were on I40 going through Memphis Tennessee. I noticed a drag on the truck engine but I didn't see anything in the mirrors. About that time a trucker pulled up beside me...

Don't wake me up

Jun 20, 2014 - Neat Place

I checked out the prices near Nashville and decided to head north instead. Today I drove past Jackson, TN. There are four exits off of I-40 for Jackson. I even saw signs for Humboldt and Alamo, TN on the I-40. Everyone I talked to says that Jackson has really grown in the past few years. To bad. From what I remember Jackson was a small town. It is a big city now. For those of you that aren't following this. Humboldt is where my mother is from. I had family that lived in Alamo. That area in Tennessee is Crocket County. Reportedly Davy...

Summer Trip 2014

May 30, 2012 - Parkers Crossroads, Tennessee

We left Nashville yesterday. We stopped at Parkers Crossroads at a RV Park just off the highway. It is about half way between Nashville & Memphis. The park is very nice. Every site has a concrete pad to park on. We have full hookups, wifii and cable TV. It is very quiet. We were stopping for one night to see friends who live in Camden. They came to pick us up and take us to their home which we hadn't seen. They've done a lot of work on it and it is beautiful. They also took us to Camden's one claim to fame - the site of airplane crash in...
